AOC endorses Biden as faux progressive princess shows off her establishment chops

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has given her blessing and backing to a second run for President Joe Biden as the media proclaims that the socialist leader of “The Squad” is sending a strong message of unity to the Democratic Party by doing so.

The establishment endorsement came as the progressive darling did an interview Thursday on “Pod Save America.” She did comment that Biden could have done better in certain areas, intimating he just isn’t leftist enough for a radicalized swath of the Democratic Party.

“I think he’s done quite well, given the limitations that we have,” Ocasio-Cortez said when asked her opinion on Biden’s performance in office, adding, “I do think that there are ebbs and flows as there are in any presidency.”

“There are areas that I think are quite strong — when he came right out of the gate with the American Rescue Plan, and of course the Inflation Reduction Act was a massive step in terms of our climate agenda,” she crowed.

Ocasio-Cortez did have criticism for Biden and the Democratic Party when it came to aggressively addressing immigration issues.

“There are also areas that I think could have gone better. The president and I think the Democratic Party in general continues to struggle with immigration. We don’t want to own this issue,” she lamely asserted, considering that the Democrats entirely own that issue now.

There are plenty of other issues as well,” Ocasio-Cortez claimed. “Even with what is happening with asylees — the ability to grant people basic work authorization so that they can work while they are going through their legal processing. There is [an] enormous amount of political resistance to that.”

Ocasio-Cortez has been tentative about throwing her support behind Biden and had not fully endorsed him since his election in 2020. She was an avid backer of fellow Democratic Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).

She has held off endorsing Biden for the 2024 Democratic primary until now. That evidently has changed as she endorsed Biden during the interview, claiming he was the best pick out of a small field of contenders.

“So, the president’s only primary opponents are Marianne Williamson, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Haven’t been any rumors about anyone else even thinking of jumping in. Will you be supporting Joe Biden for re-election?” the “Pod Save America” host Jon Favreau asked.

“I believe, given that field, yes,” Ocasio-Cortez replied, leaving the door open for someone else if they should enter the race. Many Democrats want the Democratic Socialist herself to run instead of Biden.

The New York leftist commented that major issues exist in the halls of power, notably in the Senate.

“I think that until we have senators that are willing to stand up and stare the filibuster in the eye, there are a lot of structural issues about the Senate,” Ocasio-Cortez noted. “The United States Senate will be what holds back this country from an enormous amount of progress.”

Two other members of “The Squad,” Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Greg Casar (D-Texas), have also backed Biden’s reelection bid.

The endorsement of Biden by Ocasio-Cortez impressed pretty much no one:
