The leftist purity tests continue as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s former chief of staff condemns his opponent as “another John Fetterman.”
It all started when Democratic Rep. Jake Auchincloss of Massachusetts remarked on the controversial “Nazi tattoo” of Maine senatorial candidate Graham Platner. Like many people, Auchincloss found the “tattoo and his commentary about it to be personally disqualifying,” which is apparently a problem for former AOC chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti, who is currently running for Congress in California.
He stated that Auchincloss was “essentially endorsing Susan Collins” and said there was “no excuse for a Democrat in the House to back a Republican for Senate in a crucial swing seat.”
Look:
Jake Auchincloss is essentially endorsing Susan Collins in Maine. Absolutely no excuse for a Democrat in the House to back a Republican for Senate in a crucial swing seat.
Auchincloss should be primaried. His primary election is September 1 in a safe, D+11 seat. https://t.co/YVTSyDhMQb

He also pointed out that California State Sen. Scott Wiener, who is running for the same congressional seat as Chakrabarti, is endorsed by Auchincloss, while he has earned the support of lawmakers like Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Michigan, and Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minnesota.
Scott Wiener is endorsed by Jake Auchincloss.
Our campaign is endorsed by Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib. That should tell you who Scott Wiener is going to Washington, DC, to work with.
We can’t afford another John Fetterman, especially coming from San Francisco. https://t.co/tXl2DafCTC

Naturally, X users had a lot to say about this take:
How did woke progressives allow antisemitism to be the driving force?

Ilhan Omar and Rashida Talib are total failures in Washington. They have zero legislative achievements.

Holy shit. I think this guy just said he was proud of being endorsed by Omar and Tlaib and it proved he was better than the other.🤣🤣

Not only can you afford it. You need it. Radical leftists are killing the party. A moderate, morally sound Democratic Party is how you win. People will not vote for the far left.

He also lowered the penalty for knowingly infecting someone with HIV.
