A conversation involving data breaches and advancing technology took a turn when Tucker Carlson offered a suggestion for credit card holders.
“It’s not one I’m gonna judge you for.”On
Monday, the former Fox News host premiered a lengthy discussion with guest ethical hacker Ryan Montgomery. While the talk touched on Satanic death cults and child predators on the Internet, other forms of predation found Carlson promoting people to “stop paying their credit cards.”
After Montgomery kicked off the discussion by pulling out his laptop and showing the host how readily he was able to access Carlson’s Social Security Number, signature, various licenses in multiple states, and more, cautions about freezing credit turned to the topic of debt.
It was on that subject that the guest advised against spending “money you don’t have,” to which Carlson took something of a contrary position, as he said, “I think people should stop paying their credit cards.”

“I know no one else agrees with me, and ‘Oh, you have a moral obligation.’ Really?” posited the commentator. “Well, you have a moral obligation not to send credit card applications to kids in college. So this goes both ways. It’s like just blaming the drug addict and never mentioning the dealer. Someone’s selling the fentanyl, and that person is on the hook too.”
“So like, is it a sin to rip off your drug dealer? I guess. It’s not one I’m gonna judge you for,” added Carlson.
While the former Fox News personality has found himself on the receiving end of disdain from President Donald Trump — along with other commentators — particularly for his “low IQ” take on handling Iran’s Islamist regime, some semblance could be found in their views on credit card companies with another strange bedfellow: Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (I).
Shortly after Trump secured his victory over then-Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election and set to work on preparing for his second administration, Sanders took to social media to assert, “I look forward to working with the Trump Administration on fulfilling his promise to cap credit card interest rates at 10%.”
“We cannot continue to allow big banks to make record profits by ripping off Americans by charging them 25 to 30% interest rates,” he went on. “That is usury.”
Earlier in May, efforts pertaining to the integrity of America’s financial system included an executive order from the president, “cracking down on illicit activity that threatens national security and ending the extension to high-risk borrowers that American citizens are forced to subsidize.”
Trump specifically raised concerns about lenders doing business with illegal aliens, who subsequently find American consumers taking the brunt of costs passed on by banks as a result of the inherent elevated credit risks.
Of course, within the same conversation on Carlson’s program, the point was made that those who fail to pay will likely have their assets seized, a contention raised by many despite aligned opposition to usury.
That only works if you have no money in the bank for it to confiscate.

They are currently sending desperate people who can’t afford credit cards offers with over 30% interest rates. They are worse than the mob bosses at this point and Loan Sharks.

This is one of those takes that sounds extreme until you actually look at the numbers. The average credit card APR is over 20% now. Student loan principal barely moves even when you pay for years. The system isn’t broken for the people running it, it’s working exactly as…
