Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs’ spox resigns in disgrace over ill-advised tweet

A desire to exploit the horrific murders of six people including three young children at a Nashville Christian elementary school in order to own “transphobes” has cost the press secretary for Arizona’s new Democrat Governor Katie Hobbs her job as the backlash to her ill-advised tweet has led to her resignation.

On Wednesday, Josselyn Berry was sent packing after her monumental lapse of judgment in posting a GIF animation from the 1980 Gena Rowlands crime flick “Gloria” of the character holding two handguns, an apparent threatening political statement directed at those who would correctly point out that the school shooter, 28-year-old Audrey Hale was a mentally troubled woman who identified as transgender.

“The Governor does not condone violence in any form,” Hobbs’ office said in a Wednesday afternoon statement. “This administration holds mutual respect at the forefront of how we engage with one another. The post by the Press Secretary is not reflective of the values of the administration. The Governor has received and accepted the resignation of the Press Secretary.”

Berry’s poorly thought-out tweet was soon deleted but not before it was preserved by Twitter users who expressed shock and outrage over the implication that those who would dare to speak the truth about the killer’s gender dysphoria would be acceptable targets for the left-wing violence that has manifested itself as the Democratic Party has become increasingly radicalized and the purveyors of hate in the media have affixed bullseyes to the backs of conservatives.

Berry’s tweet drew widespread condemnation from conservatives, including from Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) who slammed the “horrific” message.

“This is horrific. After a deranged lunatic who was trans murdered 6 people at a Christian School—including three 9-year-olds—the press secretary for the current Dem governor of AZ tweets out a gif of an angry woman brandishing two guns,” wrote Cruz. “What the hell??”

Christina Pushaw, former spox for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis pointed out that leftists speak out of both sides of their mouths when it comes to gun violence.

“The press secretary for @katiehobbs reminds us that progressives support gun violence, as long as it targets their political opponents. This is a perfect example of why we should never give up our rights to self-defense,” she wrote.

How over the top was it? Even lunatic screamer Keith Olbermann said that Berry’s apology and resignation were in order.

On Monday prior to her career-ending tweet, Hobbs’ soon-to-be unemployed spox posted about the progressive litmus test when it comes to minuscule but very special demographic, saying that if you “work in the progressive community and are transphobic, you’re not progressive,” then posting what was effectively her goodbye cruel world message with her reaction to a Twitter user who wrote, “Not sure these transphobic-from-the-left posers know who they’re messing with.”

“Josselyn Berry may have resigned, but her radical ideology continues to infect every area of Arizona’s government. @katiehobbs is a radical who hires radicals,” the account for defeated GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake’s campaign tweeted in a reaction to the news. “And we will continue to hold her and her administration accountable while protecting Arizona values.”

Other reactions to Berry’s ouster:

Berry’s tenure was remarkably brief, having joined the Hobbs administration following November’s Arizona gubernatorial election after previously working as a spokesperson for the state Democratic Party.
