A New York sculptor who spent $100,000 to make a life-size statue of the late Charlie Kirk is having trouble selling it.
Speaking with The Guardian, sculptor Sergio Furnari, who’s originally from Italy, admitted that he’d thought the statue would earn him “millions” of dollars. Instead, he’s stuck with zero buyers but plenty of hate mail from demonic leftists saying they want to urinate on the statue.
Plus, Furnari reportedly broke his foot while working on the statue.
“Is it cursed?” he said to The Guardian. “Maybe. I don’t know.”

What’s notable about Furnari’s hard work in honoring Kirk is that he himself wasn’t really a fan.
“I wasn’t a fan of Charlie,” he bluntly said. “Like one thing that I couldn’t stand about him while he was alive [was] when he was talking about Palestine. [Kirk would say]: ‘Oh no, Palestine doesn’t exist.’ I thought: ‘Well, this guy must be out of his mind.'”
So why did he sculpt the statue? To “glorify and to exercise the First Amendment, this freedom of speech,” to “glorify democracy,” to “commemorate a person,” and to show support to Kirk’s widow, Erika.
“Why am I making the statue? The same reason why Michelangelo did the Pietà , or Michelangelo did the David, or Leonardo da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa,” he added. “Why? Just to commemorate a moment, you know, a person.”
That being said, after his plan to sell the statue fell by the wayside, he set up an online fundraising campaign with the hope of raising at least $150,000, if not millions. That too didn’t come to pass. As of last Thursday, the fundraiser was up to only $1,400.
“I was thinking that it was going to resonate with the world, with whoever, but man, people are strange out there,” he said. “Meaning like, nobody is really coming up with support, especially financial support. So far I’ve spent all my money on this.”
“Things financially are a total, absolute nightmare. It’s like wow. People are cheap, man. You know, people talk, talk – I know lots of people out there, and everybody’s so cheap. You know, like, it’s disgusting how cheap they are,” he added.
His plan going forward is to place the Kirk statue in Times Square on Sept. 10, the anniversary of Kirk’s tragic death and murder.
“It’s going to be in the middle of Times Square, the center of the universe,” he said in a video posted to Instagram, according to Fox News. “You can bring over whoever you want, family or friends. If you were a big fan of Charlie, this will be your opportunity to maybe find a little bit of peace or harmony.”
In one video, he also shared a message to his deranged haters.
“Now, to all the haters, how many times you guys want to kill Charlie?” he asked in the video. “I mean, wasn’t one time enough? To all of you guys out there that want to come and destroy…want to bring a drill bat and some spray paint, and you want to destroy him, you want to burn him, come on guys.”
“The guy’s dead. I mean, if you guys are afraid of a statue, there’s something really wrong with you. It’s just a statue. The message is simple: freedom of speech. I’m exercising my First Amendment [right] which is freedom of speech. That’s all it is,” he added.

In a statement to Fox News, Furnari appeared to mock his detractors, saying they “bark like chihuahuas” but “don’t bite.”
He also described facing similar insanity after making a bust of President Donald Trump for his 80th birthday.
“I like Trump, but that’s it. I’m basically talking, you know what I mean? You know, it felt like I’m a MAGA, you know, or I’m Republican, or I am a Democrat. I’m an artist, that’s it,” he said.
“I never voted, never will. Yeah, it’s not about politics. You know, this is not like a political statement. This is just like a guy that got killed and then got bullied,” he added.
