‘Atta girl!’ Amish woman fends off would-be kidnapper illegal alien with weedwhacker

An Amish woman is being hailed for her heroic effort to fend off an illegal alien with a weedwhacker after he tried to abduct her at knifepoint.

The woman, who was referred to in community reports as “June,” was working in the yard outside her home when she was confronted by Junior Jose Davila-Moran — the 26-year-old New Jersey resident tapped the woman on her shoulder while holding an eight-inch serrated knife and a pair of handcuffs, according to Fox 17

Davila-Moran, who entered the U.S. illegally, tried to convince the woman to let him cuff her wrists, assuring her it would be okay if she complied —  the potential victim, who was holding a weed whacker at the time, was anything but. She screamed as loud as she could while aggressively revving the yard tool’s motor to full power and swung it at the would-be kidnapper’s face.

Realizing that his targeted victim was not going to go quietly, the suspect reportedly turned and fled the property.

Davila-Moran was arrested later and charged with attempted kidnapping, false imprisonment, simple assault, terroristic threats, and other charges, according to the Fox affiliate.

“In January 2018, Border Patrol arrested Davila-Moran in Donna, Texas, after he illegally entered the country. He was transferred to Office of Refugee Resettlement custody due to being a juvenile,’ an ICE spokesperson said of Davila-Moran’s immigration status.

Lancaster County Commissioner Josh Parsons responded to the story to call on law enforcement agencies to work with ICE to help keep Americans safe.

“I have been outspoken on this case since the beginning because the facts are so terrible,” Parsons posted on X. “Stranger kidnappings are very rare, but very dangerous and terrifying to the victim and the community. Now we know that charged individual is allegedly an illegal alien who drove from New Jersey to a very rural Lancaster County to attempt to prey on an Amish woman here.”

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
