An 80-year-old Michigan man was seriously injured when he was run over by an ATV vehicle while putting up a Trump sign in what police are calling a “politically motivated” attack.
The vicious and potentially murderous incident went down at around 5:45 pm on Sunday in the city of Hancock, capping off a spree that included vandalizing two vehicles, also believed to be related to the perp’s political views.
Police said that the elderly victim was struck by the four-wheeled recreational vehicle in the front yard of his home on Anthony Street while he was trying to put the campaign sign for GOP nominee Donald J. Trump back after the driver of the ATV had pulled it out.

“At approximately 5:45PM, in the 1600 blk of Anthony Street, the same subject driving an ATV (4-wheel) allegedly with intention to do harm drove into the residence yard, running over an 80-year-old male who was posting a political sign in his yard. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and remains in critical condition,” Hancock Police said in a statement. “It is believed that the person driving the ATV is involved in all three incidents. Be aware, the subject appeared to target both Trump and Law Enforcement supporters.”
“The crimes reported in the city of Hancock appear to be politically motivated, involving victims who displayed Trump election signs as well as law enforcement appreciation stickers and flags commonly referred to as ‘thin blue line’ paraphernalia,” according to a statement from the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office.
The police identified the suspect as having a “thin build with possible dreadlocks or long hair,” according to a description.
After a brief manhunt, the 22-year-old suspect was found dead of a single self-inflicted gunshot wound after police received a message confessing to the attack and saying “Send someone to pick me up.”
When officers and deputies arrived at the address on Samson Street in Quincy Township they discovered the body.
“Deputies obtained a search warrant for the residence and removed several electronic devices, which will be searched by computer forensic specialists. Additional evidence was located including the four-wheeler used during the incident in the city as well as clothing that the suspect had been wearing during the original incident,” according to the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, including a brain bleed.
“We’re not sure what could happen. Could he die from these injuries? Possible,” Hancock Police Chief Tami Sleeman said, according to WLUC.
The story only confirms that it’s now open season on Trump and his supporters who have had targets put on their backs by lame-duck President Joe Biden, his fellow Democrats, and the media who all have been waging a propaganda campaign to demonize the former president as Hitler and tens of millions of Americans as racists, white supremacists, and neo-Nazis.
Coming just a week after Trump narrowly escaped having his head blown off by an assassin’s bullet, the incident in Michigan should put conservatives on notice that they could at any time become victims of the climate of violence that the media has spent years whipping up, and continues to do so despite their nearly getting Trump killed.
