Former President Barack Obama held out for days before adding his name to those who have already coronated VP Kamala Harris but finally fell in line with the rest of his party early Friday morning.
In a short video posted by the Harris campaign, the presumptive Democrat nominee is seen taking a call from Mr. and Mrs. Obama who shower the “happy warrior” with praise and bestow their blessings, perfectly timed to kick off the day’s news cycle.
“I can’t have this phone call without saying to my girl Kamala: I am proud of you. This is going to be historic,” said the former first lady, likely ending the speculation that she will be called upon to be her party’s savior.
Mrs. Obama shared the video with her 22 million followers on X, “I’m so proud of my girl, Kamala. Barack and I are so excited to endorse her as the Democratic nominee because of her positivity, sense of humor, and ability to bring light and hope to people all across the country. We’ve got your back,” she wrote.

“We called to say Michelle and I couldn’t be prouder to endorse you and do everything we can to get you through this election and into the Oval Office,” Mr. Obama chimed in, adding “Well, the— look, you’re a happy warrior,” to which Harris responded, “Indeed.”
“And the country needs a happy warrior,” Mrs. Obama said.
“It means so much to have your endorsements,” Harris wrote on X. “Let’s get to work.”

In terms of propaganda, one has to marvel at the Democrats’ ability to cynically create an alternate reality by taking perhaps Harris’ greatest liability, her bizarre bursting into laughter and uncontrollable cackling and repackaging it as spin that she’s just a “happy warrior,” a term that will likely be seen and heard everywhere for the next three and a half months.
The video also solves what was becoming a growing problem for the party, Obama’s lack of an endorsement was conspicuous by his absence among the lockstep support of lame duck Joe Biden’s heir apparent.
The endorsements come after a bombshell report quoted sources close to the Biden family who said that Obama “knows she can’t win” and that he “knows she’s just incompetent — the border czar who never visited the border, saying that all migrants should have health insurance. She cannot navigate the landmines that are ahead of her.”
Now that the Obamas have clambered onboard, there’s no stopping the media-fueled Harris bandwagon.
