Trump mocks ‘Gavin Newscum’ for forced move on ‘SLUM LIKE’ homeless situation

California Governor Gavin Newsom is finally doing something about the homeless encampments in his state, and former President Donald Trump has a lot to say about it.

Trump took to Truth Social to blast the governor for the timing of his executive order, which permits state agencies to begin clearing out homeless encampments. He accused Newsom of doing this for the optics because Vice President Kamala Harris is from California.

“Why didn’t Gavin Newscum do this a long time ago? He’s only doing it because, just like Crooked Joe Biden, his Radical Left Democrat Presidential Candidate, Lyin’ Kamala Harris, is losing BIG in the Polls,” he charged. “They just did it for Political Reasons, because she comes from California, and looks terrible. Right after the Election, it will go back to SLUM LIKE condition, unless we WIN — THEN, AMERICA WILL BE GREAT AGAIN!”

The governor has a different take on the situation, saying that a Supreme Court decision finally gave him the power he needed to be able to make the move on Thursday.

“With the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision in Grants Pass v Johnson, local governments now have the tools and authority to address dangerous encampments and help provide those residing in encampments with the resources they need,” reads a statement explaining the executive order.

“Governor Newsom’s executive order directs state agencies and departments to adopt humane and dignified policies to urgently address encampments on state property, including by taking necessary and deliberate steps to notify and support the people inhabiting the encampment prior to removal,” it continues.

Newsom himself took to X to post a video explaining himself.

“I don’t think there’s anything more urgent and more frustrating than addressing the issue of encampments in the state of California. Over the course of the last number of years, the state has stepped up where in the past, we’ve provided no support, no resources to clean up encampments like this,” he said, standing at the site of a homeless camp. “Today, we’ve invested now $1 billion in encampment resolution grants – not only to clean up sites like this but to address the underlying issue in the first place.”

“One of the big issues though, that has been an impediment, was the courts,” Newsom continued. “In the past, the courts have denied the ability for local government, including the state,  to clean up many of these encampments. Today I announced an executive order to move the process forward. We’re done. It’s time to move with urgency at the local level to clean up these sites, to focus on public health, to focus on public safety. There are no longer any excuses. A billion dollars this state has invested to support communities to clean up these encampments. We have now no excuse with the Supreme Court decision, this executive order is about pushing that paradigm further and getting the sense of urgency that’s required of local government, to do their job.”

Trump wasn’t the only one prepared to cast doubt on the suspicious timing of this decision:
