Barbra Streisand skewered for hate-filled speculation on Trump gunman’s motivation

Barbra Streisand’s Trump Derangement Syndrome got the better of her as the iconic diva shared her dishonest take on the failed assassination of former President Donald Trump.

The 82-year-old singer pounced on reports that the 20-year-old shooter who supposedly outmaneuvered the Secret Service was registered as a Republican, citing other reports that he had been bullied in school to suggest that because critics see Trump as a bully, it’s his own fault that he got shot.

“Thomas Matthew Crooks was a registered Republican but as it has been reported he was bullied a lot in school. Trump has always been branded to be a bully. Maybe that’s what motivated him,” Streisand said on X.

As might be expected, Streisand did not bother to add any context to Crooks’ voter registration.

The left has been running with the fact that Crooks, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, was a registered Republican. Still, records show that an individual matching Crooks’ name made a donation to ActBlue earmarked for the Progressive Turnout Project, a political action committee that mobilizes Democratic voters. Online speculation suggests that Crooks may have registered as a Republican to vote against Trump in the primary — Pennsylvania is a closed-primary state.

Streisand has not bothered to comment online on the death of rallygoer Corey Comperatore, a former firefighter who used his body as a shield to protect his wife and two daughters when the bullets started flying at the Trump rally, or the two others critically wounded that day.

As for her dishonesty, Streisand regurgitated Democratic Party talking points last week when she posted, “Trump cares nothing about national unity. What he and JD Vance have in mind is the radical program of Project 2025 written by their allies at the Heritage Foundation.”

Trump has gone to great lengths to disassociate himself from Project 2025, which is essentially a conservative wish list complied by DC think tank.

Social media users did not hesitate to blast Babs for her ridiculous speculation about the shooter’s motivations — of which, the FBI tells us they are still in the dark.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
