Ben Crump, Jesse Jackson set their sights on Chicago Public Schools over removal of black principles

Race-hustling attorney Ben Crump is back in the spotlight for defending three black former Chicago principals who were removed for unclear reasons.

Abdule Muhammad was the principal at Lindblom Math and Science Academy on the south side and was removed in March for undisclosed reasons. Gerald Morrow was also removed as principal of Dunbar Vocational Career Academy late last year for another investigation CPS refrained to elaborate on,” according to local station WGN.

Kimberly Gibson was also dismissed and moved to handle student safety. She was the principal of the Lakeview school that she helped rename Harriet Tubman.”

All three appeared with Crump and fellow race hustler Jesse Jackson during a press conference Thursday outside the Chicago Public School headquarters.

Moreover, all three claimed the unspecified allegations against them are bogus and rooted in racial hatred/animus.

“Crump [in particular] is advocating for due process in three cases, saying CPS is corrupt and needs to be held accountable,” according to WGN.

“We have to look at our whole education system and see where else they are attacking our children because now more than ever, we have to speak up for our children’s future,” he said at Thursday’s press conference.

“If it happens once, it’s an incident. It happens twice, it’s a coincidence. But when it happens, three times, four times, five times, six times, seven times it is a pattern and practice of discrimination against Black principals,” he added.

In a statement, Crump reportedly described the allegations against the three principals as being “based on fabricated reports filled with false claims.”

Also present at the presser was Troy LaRaviere of the Chicago Principals’ Association.

“A report that CPS tried hard not to release, that exposes the core of the racist system that smears, defames and persecutes principals for having the audacity to hold the system accountable for serving Black students,” he said, describing his beef with CPS.

There is reportedly some evidence to back up their allegations of CPS’ corruption.

“Lynn White, who was chairwoman of the selection committee at Lindblom that selected Muhammed, mentioned texts that allegedly support claims that the terminations were race-based,” according to Fox News.

“It was stated in a text that went out to staff persons that we did not need him there because he was part of the Black group of Muslims,” she said at the presser.

According to CNN, the group that showed up Thursday “is asking the school district to issue an official apology and to reinstate the principals impacted.” They are also calling on the Department of Justice to launch an investigation.

CPS for its part has released a “woke” statement denying the allegations of corruption.

“At Chicago Public Schools (CPS) we know that Black, Latinx, Asian, Indigenous, and other school leaders of color make a huge impact in the lives of our students, not only academically, but socially, emotionally, and mentally. While we have made great strides to ensure that the diversity of our school leaders and central and network staff reflects the diversity of our student body, we are committed to continuing to invest in recruitment and retention efforts,” the statement reads.

“As a District, we strive to make sure all our schools have strong leaders dedicated to the success of their staff, students, and communities. The District has comprehensive procedures in place to thoroughly investigate allegations of staff misconduct, ensuring our employees are afforded proper due process, and make fair employment decisions. Such investigations take time and preclude us from providing ongoing and detailed updates, however, we are confident in the decisions made by the leaders of our District.”

“We are committed to continuing to work with families and community members to ensure that we address their concerns and ensure that our schools are safe and inclusive learning environments for all students and staff,” the statement concludes.

Over on Twitter meanwhile, Crump has been hit with criticism from those folks who are all too aware of his insidious modus operandi:
