Jon Stewart roasted both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump over being too old to run for office again, which caused Democrats to explode with fury and slam him for daring to diss the president.
After a nine-year hiatus from The Daily Show, Stewart has returned and his opening monologue thrilled some and alienated others who decided to be offended over it. They accused him of being guilty of both sides-ism, but he’s no stranger to criticism and took it all in stride.
“These two candidates, they are both similarly challenged, and it is not crazy to think that the oldest people in the history of the country to ever run for president might have some of these challenges,” Stewart said referring to Biden and Trump.

Biden forgets many, many things such as when his son died and where, what period of time he was vice president, and most notably, what he did with classified documents, to name just a few. His appearances are full of gaffes, lies, anger, and nonsense. His physical incidents show that stairs and platforms have the upper hand over the octogenarian as well.
Trump has none of that weighing him down, but Stewart evidently wanted to bring both men down to the same political level.
He went on to accuse Biden of failing to remember “basic things.” That was being kind.
Billionaire Elon Musk loved Stewart’s rant calling his segment the return of “balance and humor.” That incensed the left even more.
Balance and humor return!

Rabid former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann foamed on X while circling Musk’s comments, “If you’re wondering how Jon Stewart’s bullsh*t bothsidesist return went over… The antisemite racist conspiracy nuts LOVED it.”

Daily Beast reporter Justin Baragona welcomed Stewart back, “My God, it’s like he barely left. The Daily Show is good again! And he needed this just like we needed him. Welcome back, Jon!”
Leftist producer Aaron Rupar took issue with Baragona’s sentiment and slammed Stewart. He applauded his humor but was aghast that he would compare Biden and Trump in the same breath.
“Jon Stewart still has it in terms of being funny and entertaining but the political content of this monologue is basically the New York Times op-ed page in TV form. Both sides are not in fact equally bad!” he railed on X.
Some of Stewart’s jokes landed but I would argue the message of his monologue is actually the very last thing we need right now unless you want four more years of Trump. It certainly didn’t inspire anyone to vote.

Rupar also charged that Stewart was jaded over his 2024 outlook and did nothing to encourage Democrats to go out and vote according to Mediaite.
Leftists lined up to hammer Stewart over his perceived both sides-ism.
Jon Stewart both-sides Biden and Trump over their age, equating them both -as I expected. So I turned it off. You’d think by now he’d know better,

Jon Stewart is back to talk about Biden’s age.
Tonight you lost it. Beyond disappointing!
— Reda (@RedaMor_) February 13, 2024
Wow. So you basically say because Biden is old, he is basically as bad as Trump.
Why thr F do we never learn as a country?
Sorry, but I won't be watching you either.

I love Jon, but if he’s gonna bash Biden, I’m not watching.

As far as Stewart aiming to use The Daily Show as a political vehicle to get out the vote, he’s very cautious in thinking that the show could sway the upcoming elections.
Starting tonight, @jonstewart is back at @TheDailyShow anchor desk on Mondays through the 2024 election cycle.
He shares why he’s taking on a second term: “Who better to comment on this election than someone who truly understands two aging men past their prime?” pic.twitter.com/WSOBtSmrdj

“I don’t know about hoping to have an influence, but I’m hoping to have a catharsis, and a way to comment on things, and a way to express them that hopefully people will enjoy,” he said during a CBS Mornings interview.
As for Biden’s TikTok video, Stewart really ripped it.
“Fire everyone. Everyone. How do you go on TikTok and end up looking older?” he asked.
