Biden blunders on CBS: ‘If Trump wins …’

President Joe Biden continued the fear-mongering lies about former President Donald Trump, expressing concerns that there would not be a peaceful transfer of power if he lost the election.

In a recorded interview with Bob Costa for “CBS Sunday Morning,” the 81-year-old president who ended his re-election bid under a pressure campaign last month, said he’s not “confident” Trump will go quietly.

“Are you confident that there will be a peaceful transfer of power in January 2025 if Trump wins?” Costa asked in the interview which will air in its entirety on Sunday.

“If Trump wins, no, I’m not confident at all,” Biden said before catching himself. “I mean if Trump loses I’m not confident at all.”

“He means what he says. We don’t take him seriously,” the president continued in his first interview since exiting the 2024 race.

“All the stuff about if we lose, there’ll be a bloodbath, it’s a stolen – look what they’re trying to do now in the local election districts where people count the votes, putting people in place in states where they’re going to count the votes,” Biden said, once again mischaracterizing Trump’s remarks from a March speech in Dayton, Ohio.

“You can’t love your country, only when you win,” Biden told Costa in the interview clip, echoing remarks he made in his Oval Office address last month.

“Look, I’m not the guy that said I want to be a dictator on day one. I’m not the guy that refused to accept the outcome of the election,” Biden said at the time, continuing the false narrative to attack Trump. “I’m not the guy who said that he wouldn’t accept the outcome of this election automatically. You can’t only love your country when you win.”

While discussing trade policy in the Ohio speech, Trump said there would be a “bloodbath” in the auto industry if he didn’t win the election but critics pounced on the line and continued to falsely claim he had meant a literal “bloodbath” would follow an election loss.

Trump fired back in a post on Truth Social at the time.

“The Fake News Media, and their Democrat Partners in the destruction of our Nation, pretended to be shocked at my use of the word BLOODBATH, even though they fully understood that I was simply referring to imports allowed by Crooked Joe Biden, which are killing the automobile industry,” he wrote in a March post.

“The United Auto Workers, but not their leadership, fully understand what I mean,” he added.

During the one debate between Trump and Biden in June, the president snapped back at his Republican opponent who said he would accept the outcome in November “if it’s a fair and legal and good election.”

“I tell you what, I doubt you’ll accept it because you’re such a whiner,” Biden declared in response. “The idea if you lose again, you accepting anything, you can’t stand the loss, something snapped in you when you lost the last time.”

Biden and Democrats have repeatedly accused the former president of inciting violence and an “insurrection” at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

The full interview with Biden will air on “CBS News Sunday Morning” on Sunday, Aug. 11. Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris, who was crowned as the Democratic presidential nominee, has still not held a press conference or done a sit-down interview since she took over the top of the party ticket.

“Kamala refuses to do interviews because her team realizes she is unable to answer questions, much like Biden was not able to answer questions, but for different reasons,” Trump wrote Thursday on Truth Social. “He is just plain ‘shot,’ and she is just plain ‘Incompetent.'”
