Biden goes into twisted rant to Black voters, gaslights over ‘peaceful’ George Floyd protests

President Joe Biden continued to gaslight black voters as he claimed his White House rival once wanted to “tear gas” them as they “peacefully” protested during the 2020 George Floyd riots.

The 81-year-old Democrat was joined by Vice President Kamala Harris as they kicked off their “Black Voters for Biden-Harris” initiative, appearing at a mostly black boarding school in Philadelphia where Biden spun his tales.

He thanked black voters for helping him secure the 2020 presidential nomination and spoke about how they “shared” values that got him involved in politics as a kid.

Turning his attacks on former President Donald Trump, Biden gave attendees at the Girard College event an earful of malarkey.

“Let me ask you: What do you think he would’ve done on January 6 if black Americans had stormed the … think about this,” Biden said referring to the events at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

“What do you think would have happened if black Americans had stormed the Capitol? I don’t think he’d be talking about pardons. This is the same guy who wanted to tear gas you as you peacefully protested George Floyd’s murder,” he added, referring to the 2020 protests and demonstrations in cities such as Philadelphia after Floyd, 46, died while in Minneapolis police custody.

At the height of the protests, then-President Trump spoke from the White House condemning the violence and then walked through Lafayette Square to St. John’s Episcopal Church, which had suffered damage in a fire during rioting. His detractors claimed that “peaceful” protesters in the park were tear-gassed so the president could make his way to the church for what they slammed as a “photo-op.”

In a statement at the time, the U.S. Park Police denied tear gas was used.

“As many of the protestors became more combative, continued to throw projectiles, and attempted to grab officers’ weapons, officers then employed the use of smoke canisters and pepper balls. No tear gas was used by USPP officers or other assisting law enforcement partners to close the area at Lafayette Park,” they said.

A report by the inspector general of the U.S. Department of the Interior eventually debunked the claims that Biden and Democrats continue to falsely peddle today.

“We did not obtain evidence suggesting that the USPP cleared Lafayette Park so the President could visit St. John’s Church. Instead, we found that by approximately 10 a.m. on June 1, the USPP had already begun developing a plan to clear protesters from the area to enable the contractor to safely install the antiscale fence. … We found no evidence establishing that the USPP knew of any potential movement by the President through Lafayette Park until hours later,” a portion of the June 2021 report read.

Biden’s erosion of support among minority voters is one reason for the election team’s focus on getting the president out before the key demographics. The declining numbers are raising “alarm bells” for the party.
