Biden scores David Letterman headliner at swanky Martha’s Vineyard fundraiser

President Joe Biden may have lost George Clooney and other Hollywood types but he’s won the endorsement of late-night television legend David Letterman.

In a much-needed shot in the arm for the sagging morale of Biden’s reelection campaign, the iconic former host will be headlining a fundraiser in swanky Martha’s Vineyard as the geriatric leader turns to the eastern liberal elite for a transfusion of money to keep the mutinous elements of his party at bay.

According to a report from the Associated Press, the 77-year-old Letterman will head up the July 29 event along with Hawaii’s Democrat Governor Josh Green, a longtime Biden ally. The soiree will be held at the home of one of the residents of the playground for uber-rich liberals, and it won’t be Barack Obama.

Green told the outlet that the president and First Lady Jill Biden will be attending, a sign that the embattled incumbent will continue to stubbornly defy calls to drop out of the race and pass the torch to another candidate with VP Kamala Harris the name most frequently being mentioned as his successor.

“Please join me at an exciting event with First Lady Jill Biden on Martha’s Vineyard,” read an email from Winning Strategies CEO Robin Leeds, the organizer of the event, according to the Vineyard Gazette. “This is a unique opportunity to meet Jill on her first visit to the island this cycle and get more engaged with the campaign.”

Biden has been sequestered in his Delaware home since last week when he was abruptly pulled off the campaign trail after testing positive for COVID.

The 81-year-old career politician who is now in the dogfight of his half-century career in Washington, D.C. “has at least 10 other fundraising events over the last 10 days of July,” AP reported, a grueling schedule for a feeble candidate who is coming off another bout with COVID, despite having been jabbed numerous times.

A supporter of Biden and critic of former President Donald J. Trump, the former late-night host had harsh words for the GOP nominee who he featured as a guest more than 30 times on his show.

“More than 30?” Letterman said during a 2019 appearance on a Hollywood Reporter podcast. “I think he just liked being on TV. I had no sense that he was the soulless bastard that he’s turned into.”

In addition to the Obama chum Clooney, other big-name entertainment industry leftists have also had a change of heart about Biden, including “Meathead” Rob Reiner and aging schlockmeister Stephen King, so while having Letterman’s support will be a boost for Biden, it’s not exactly like he’s much of a household name these days.

The Massachusetts resort off the coast of Cape Cod may be an enclave of the filthy-rich liberal elite, but also a haven of holier-than-thou hypocrites who when Florida Governor Ron DeSantis flew a couple of planeloads of illegal aliens to their special island back in 2022, showed how much they really cared about the plight of the brown people who they moved with lightning speed to send elsewhere.

Biden’s fundraising blitz comes as he and his greedball family try to run out the clock against the ferocious push to replace him until the party’s Chicago convention next month.
