Biden to bestow nation’s highest civilian honor on Tokyo Olympics anthem-kneeling Megan Rapinoe

In yet another slap to the face of American traditions and values, President Joe Biden has selected Megan Rapinoe, the uber-woke, openly gay soccer player who dutifully dropped to one virtuous knee as our country’s national anthem played during the Tokyo Summer Olympics, to receive the highest honor our nation can bestow upon a civilian, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

According to a White House press release, the medal is “presented to individuals who have made exemplary contributions to the prosperity, values, or security of the United States, world peace, or other significant societal, public or private endeavors,” and apparently profoundly insulting on a global stage the war veterans who fought to protect those very things now qualifies you.

Well, that and being an LGBTQ+ activist.

Even if a former player says you would “almost bully” your fellow players into following your lead.

“I’ve seen Megan Rapinoe almost bully players into kneeling because she really wants to stand up for something in her particular way,” former U.S. women’s national soccer team player Hope Solo said on the “All of US: The U.S. Women’s Soccer Show” podcast back in August 2021, “but it’s our right as Americans to do it in whatever way we’re comfortable with.”

“Megan Rapinoe is an Olympic gold medalist and two-time Women’s World Cup champion,” the White House states. “She also captains OL Reign in the National Women’s Soccer League. She is a prominent advocate for gender pay equality, racial justice, and LGBTQI+ rights.”

Pulling out of a commitment at the last possible minute and risking the lifelong dreams of your hardworking teammates on a global stage can also nab you a medal from Biden’s White House.

Yes, Simone Biles, the Olympic gymnast who threatened to steal Rapinoe’s media Tokyo thunder when she abruptly withdrew from the team final citing mental health issues, will also be receiving a Medal of Freedom.

“President Biden has long said that America can be defined by one word: possibilities,” the White House statement reads. “These seventeen Americans demonstrate the power of possibilities and embody the soul of the nation — hard work, perseverance, and faith. They have overcome significant obstacles to achieve impressive accomplishments in the arts and sciences, dedicated their lives to advocating for the most vulnerable among us, and acted with bravery to drive change in their communities — and across the world — while blazing trails for generations to come.”

On Twitter, many are understandably mortified.

“I am so offended that anti-American Megan Rapinoe will receive the Medal of Honor,” wrote one user. “Every patriot American soldier, past and present, should get this honor. NOT a purple haired, look-at-me traitor to our country, who would not stand for our flag!!”

“SO Simone Biles gets the Presidential Medal of Freedom for being a COWARD and NOT competing!?!” exclaimed podcaster Graham Allen.

“Absolute garbage and insanity,” wrote a third user. “Horrible. Disgusting. Terrible.”

The news so upset author Nick Adams, he posted a video to express his disgust.

“I am disgusted by Joe Biden’s decision to award woke Megan Rapinoe and quitter Simone Biles with the Presidential Medal of Freedom,” he tweeted. “It should have been Tim Tebow! Megan Rapinoe does not deserve to walk in the footsteps of Rush Limbaugh and Tiger Woods!”
