Biden triggers wave of internet sleuths looking for analyst who told him his economic track record was best in 50 years

President Joe Biden triggered a wave of first confusion and then ruthless mockery early Wednesday by posting a tweet celebrating his “economic track record.”

“We’re ending 2021 with what one analyst described as the strongest first-year economic track record of any president in the last 50 years. Let’s keep the progress going,” he wrote without naming this alleged analyst.

This initially provoked folks into using search engines (DuckDuckGo, Bing, etc.) to try and locate this possible mysterious analyst. But that effort ultimately failed, because as far as anyone can tell, this analyst doesn’t appear to exist.

And even if there is an economic analyst somewhere who has said the president is responsible for “the strongest first-year economic track record” anywhere, that wouldn’t make him or her right. Not by a long shot.

Stunningly, over 40,000 people liked the tweets. If you scroll through the “liked by” list, you’ll find people who identify as “LGTBQ education junkie,” “#resistersister,” “anarchist,” “#blacklivesmatter,” “”a very blue Democrat,” “single mom,” etc.

Sounds about left

As for who replied to the tweet, nearly 20,000 did, and as you’ll soon see, virtually all of the replies were scorching in their mockery.

Here’s a sample:

Even China got in on the action.

Chen Weihua, a notorious Chinese troll who works as a “journalist” for the Chinese Communist Party, slammed the president for bragging and noted that people who are genuinely the best “don’t say it” — they show it.

Look:

This raises the question of what exactly has Biden shown? According to critics, he’s shown that he has no idea what he’s doing.

They say that his policies — burdensome regulations, draconian vaccine/mask mandates, pipeline closures, reckless spending — have engendered massive inflation, lowered wages and made the American people’s lives significantly harder.

This might explain why his economic approval ratings “are worse than [Jimmy] Carter’s,” according to CNN, a network not known for bashing him.

But instead of admitting the truth, the president keeps doubling down — either maliciously, meaning he’s gas-lighting, or because he genuinely believes he’s the tops, in which case he, critics say, is living in a fantasy world.

And indeed, the president’s latest tweet suggests it’s the latter. Not only does the tweet deny the reality being faced by countless Americans, but it conflates America returning to normal (after mainly blue state governors purposefully shut down their economies amid the pandemic) with an economic boom.

The economy would have returned to normal regardless of who won the 2020 presidential election. However, critics are confident that if former President Donald Trump had won, America would be back to the old normal by   now — not the “woke” “new normal” being seen under the new president …
