Bill Maher points to frantic clean up of homeless ahead of Xi visit as proof that Trump is ‘killing it’

Bill Maher has a “theory.”

The host of HBO’s “Real Time” says the Democrats’ miraculous clean-up of San Francisco’s drug-infested homeless encampments ahead of President Joe Biden’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping is a clear sign that former President Donald Trump is well on his way to beating Biden in 2024.

“I want to try a theory out on you why Trump is killing it — not just within the party, but he’s beating Biden heavily too,” Maher proposed to the panel on Friday, according to Fox News Digital.

“Because Xi, President Xi of China, came to our state this week and met with Biden up in San Francisco, and they had a little summit,” he continued. “And they did something very interesting in San Francisco.”

As BizPac Review reported, the streets of San Francisco were cleared of any unsightly homeless people in preparation for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.

Given the city’s soaring crime and the exodus of businesses from the downtown area, California Governor Gavin Newsom was blasted on X after admitting that the transformation was done just for Xi’s benefit.

“I know folks are saying, ‘Oh, they’re just cleaning up this place because all those fancy leaders are coming to town,'” Newsom said during a press conference. “That’s true, because it’s true.”

That kind of attitude, Maher reasoned, does not bode well for Biden.

“I mean, I have done many, many jokes as many comedians have about stepping in poop in San Francisco and, you know, it’s a city that needs to be put under control — so they did! Because Xi was coming!” he said. “Put aside the fact that you only clean up with company coming over?”

“OK, so they cleaned it up, they rinse off the street, the homeless, you know, God forbid the guy who sends us the fentanyl sees somebody on fentanyl,” he added.

“This, to me, is why Trump is winning, because he talks about, ‘I’m going to open up the mental hospitals.,'” Maher explained. “Again, I’m not saying these are necessarily a good solution. When he talks, ‘I’m gonna put people in camps, the immigrants,’ all this kind of stuff, and people just see a place — a country, especially in the cities — that looks out-of-control. And the fact that the Democrats could control it for three days, how about making it permanent?”

Meanwhile, California residents have “had enough” of the Democrats’ love affair with President Xi.

Angry protestors took to San Fran’s newly cleaned streets and began tearing down the Chinese Communist Party’s flags that flew as Xi made his way through the city.

Maher’s “theory” seemed to track with many on X.

“That’s true,” one user quipped, “because it’s true.”
