Border Patrol agents to stop wearing body cameras ‘effective immediately’: report

A new report indicates that border patrol agents may no longer be wearing body-worn cameras, at least not for the time being.

Ali Bradley, the southern border correspondent for NewsNation, posted the news on X, explaining that some Reddit threads are passing around information on how to tap into the systems to know whether or not an agent is nearby.

Look:

“NEW: Border Patrol agents will stop wearing body cameras effective immediately. CBP sources confirm an email went out alerting of the move saying, ‘Effective immediately and until further notice, U.S. Border Patrol Agents will cease the use of body worn cameras (BWC) in all operational environments.’ There are Reddit threads circulating on how to tap into their systems and know when they are nearby—Which is what sources say is reason behind the cams being pulled. It is not clear if these will be replaced or what the plan is. I emailed CBP for more information but likely won’t hear back until Tuesday as they are out for the holiday weekend,” she wrote.
