Brian Kilmeade zings CNN hosts over possibility of Trump being found ‘not guilty’

Fox News’ host Brian Kilmeade’s zeal to zing competing corporate media outlets for their biased and presumptive coverage of former President Donald Trump left his Facebook account posting a verdict before the trial.

While seemingly not as egregious a prediction as the network’s 2020 election night call of Arizona, the caption for a clip from his Wednesday night broadcast of “Fox News Tonight” was nothing if not a head scratcher.

Posted to his social media account Friday, Kilmeade’s opening remarks ripped into CNN, MSNBC and PBS for how they covered Trump’s post-arraignment speech from Bedminster, New Jersey as he said, “The same media outlets that spent the entire day covering Trump’s arraignment, suddenly wanted nothing to do with the former president. CNN refused to air Trump’s speech.”

The caption to the monologue, still posted on Facebook since Friday, read, “CNN Hosts Go NUCLEAR As Trump Is Found Not Guilty And Refuse To Air His Speech”

It remained unclear if Kilmeade himself were responsible for the post and if it had meant to read “Trump Pleads Not Guilty,” but in the segment, the host did go on to attack the prevailing stance from leftists that the former president is guilty until proven innocent.

“The media have treated the Justice Department’s allegations like they’re complete facts. They never have been. They don’t even claim they are,” he said after noting PBS attached a disclaimer about inciting violence and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow once again accused Trump of presenting lies. “They’ve broadcast every claim in the indictment across their airwaves as if they’re facts.”

As the Fox News host went on to point out, the indictment containing 37 felony counts related to Trump’s possession of documents marked classified was itself a series of unproven allegations with cherry-picked details selected to present the one-sided argument.

Worth noting, the Facebook post came one day after longtime Fox News producer Alexander McCaskill resigned over a chyron that ran Tuesday evening during a side-by-side of Trump and President Joe Biden speaking that read, “Wannabe dictator speaks at the White House after having his political rival arrested.”

Prior to Tucker Carlson’s separation from the network, McCaskill had been one of his producers and the former primetime host opined not only on the how “He was considered one of the most capable people in the building,” but on the nature of the content as well.

“But why were they angry if the banner on Fox was false? Why the hysteria? Lies don’t seem to bother anyone anymore. If some cable news producer had called Joe Biden a genius or accused him of being secretly Sudanese, would anyone be yelling about it? Would Fox News have apologized for it? Probably not. But calling Joe Biden a wannabe dictator, that stung,” Carlson said.

Many of the comments to Kilmeade’s post were aimed at the blatant bias of CNN and their media ilk, but at least one person called out the erroneous caption and said, “Brian Kilmeade you should double check before you post. He PLEAD not guilty NOT he was FOUND not guilty. I kinda expect this from Fox though. No fact checking.”
