‘Bring it on!’ Nancy Mace moves to expel a fellow Republican facing allegations

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) is making moves to expel a fellow Republican facing allegations.

The House Ethics Committee is currently probing whether Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) potentially used his position to receive favors, committed sexual misconduct, misused congressional resources, and violated campaign finance law. Calls for his resignation intensified following the scandals that brought down Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) and Rep. Tony Gonzalez (R-TX), who both allegedly engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior. Mace is among those speaking out about her desire for Mills to step down.

“The swamp has protected Cory Mills for far too long, and we are done letting it slide. We tried to censure him and strip him from his committee assignments. Both parties blocked it, but we are not backing down,” she said.  “The evidence against Mills is overwhelming: beating women and telling them to lie about it, cyberstalking women, lying about his military service, and profiting off his seat. Any Member who votes to keep him here is voting to protect a woman-beater and a fraud. He needs to be expelled immediately.”

“I did not come to Congress to watch powerful people abuse women and cover it up. Cory, your days are numbered. Start packing.”

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Mills implied Mace is a hypocrite.

“I personally think that you should allow due process. I think that what the precedence that she’s setting right now is that you only have to be investigated, and she’s under investigation … so I think that, by her own admission, she’s kind of also saying that she should be expelled as well,” he said.

She made an X post about Mills on Monday evening, blasting him for his behavior.

“They’re coming after me because I am standing up for YOU and your values. Cory Mills allegedly beats women, has a restraining order against him from threatening a woman, reports say he’s an arms dealer while sitting on House Armed Services and Foreign Affairs, and rumored to be profiting off federal contracts from his own seat. He is neck-deep in fraud and police reports. He has no place in Congress. His rightful place is behind bars,” she wrote. “Because I will not back down from exposing him, he is trying to expel me. This is the same person who protected Ilhan Omar when we tried to censure her. The same person who got married in a mosque where 9/11 was planned. The same person who, when questioned by police about bruises on a woman, tried to call Pam Bondi. So go ahead, Cory. Bring it on.”
