‘Buffoon’: Biden’s refusal to answer simple question about his trip to Hawaii infuriates media

President Biden was hammered on social media for refusing to comment on details surrounding his trip to tragedy-stricken Maui, evidently bowing to immense pressure after his Tahoe vacation was slammed.

Reporters peppered Biden with questions on the sudden announcement to forego Lake Tahoe and instead travel with the first lady to Hawaii on Monday after a slew of terrible optics where he refused to comment on the catastrophe for more than a week. Now, he’s refusing to comment once again and is seen on video simply turning his back on the press and rudely walking away.

“Can you tell us about your Hawaii trip, sir?” a reporter asked the president.

“No, not now. I’m going to be leaving, and I’ll be there on Monday,” Biden tersely responded before heading to his vehicle.

Bloomberg’s Justin Sink reported on Sunday that Biden responded with “no comment” when questioned about the mounting death toll in Lahaina.

“After a couple hours on the Rehoboth beach, @potus was asked about the rising death toll in Hawaii,” Sink commented on X.

He went on to report that Biden had responded with “no comment” and then went home. Video footage confirmed his account of the encounter. It showed Biden responding before packing it up for the day.

As outrage grew over the lack of response from the president concerning the wildfire, Biden announced on Tuesday in a speech that he and First Lady Jill Biden would visit the area as soon as they could. Which, at the time, would follow yet another vacation, this time to the playground of the rich and famous, Lake Tahoe.

“My wife Jill and I are gonna travel to Hawaii as soon as we can, and that’s what I’ve been talking to the governor about. I don’t want to get in the way. I’ve been to too many disaster areas, but I want to go and make sure they’ve got everything they need, and I want to be sure we don’t disrupt the ongoing recovery efforts,” Biden asserted.

The White House once again engaged in damage control claiming that the president was using the “whole-of-government” to help with the wildfire tragedy.

“The Biden-Harris Administration has mobilized a robust whole-of-government response effort to support immediate and long-term rescue and recovery efforts in Maui, Hawaii,” a spokesperson said in a statement.

Social media denizens made it apparent they are sick and tired of Biden’s non-transparency and lack of empathy. They perceived his actions as not giving a flying crap about those that died in the wildfire.
