Jake Tapper was shredded on-air by a caller during a C-SPAN appearance to promote his book on former President Joe Biden’s depleted cognitive state and his team’s efforts to hide his true condition from the American people.
In an awkward exchange, the caller, who was clearly a Biden supporter, humiliated the CNN anchor whom she accused of being too tough on the disgraced ex-POTUS, while in her opinion, giving a free pass to President Donald J. Trump.
The caller, who was identified as “Sarah from Virginia,” was no fan of “Original Sin” and its scathing depiction of a senile Biden and gave Tapper a piece of her mind.

“I watch you on CNN, but right now, I really don’t like you. I think you’re doing a disservice to Joe and also to the American people,” she began. “When are you going to examine, you know, what is going on with Trump?”
“Joe Biden conducted himself for four years, taking care of the United States. He took meetings. He went overseas. He negotiated with other leaders,” the caller continued, not mentioning that during many of those overseas visits, Biden’s speeches were chock full of gaffes and senior moments and that at last year’s G7 summit in Italy, he wandered off like a dementia patient.
“This president has been pure chaos, which indicates to me that there is something wrong with him,” she said of Trump. “We will never get a straight answer on his medical examinations, what medication he is on, and yet you have gone after Joe Biden with a vengeance. I’m very disappointed in you. I enjoy watching your show, but not anymore.”
She then gave him a suggestion for his next book.
“And I think right now you ought to start writing another book examining Trump and how erratic and what he is doing, calling out the National Guard, the Marines, and everybody. When has a president ever done that? It’s pure erratic,” she said.
A flustered Tapper then got a chance to respond to the criticism from “Sarah from Virginia,” and he defended his coverage of Trump, who the network has obsessed about for a decade and he himself has likened to Adolf Hitler.
“Sarah, as you know from watching my show on CNN, we cover President Trump every day for two hours, every day from 5 to 7 Eastern, and we cover all the things you talk about, in terms of the current president’s behavior,” he said. “We have covered times that he has confused Nancy Pelosi with Nikki Haley.”
“I think some of the questions about President Trump’s behavior have more to do with personality than with cognitive decline, but, obviously, whatever lessons we’ve learned from covering President Biden, we would apply to any politician, any future politician or present politician,” the anchor added.
“So I’m sorry if I’m disappointing you by covering President Biden, but journalists, we are supposed to cover stories that we think the American people have a right to know, that we think will enhance their understanding of how the country is run; and I think Alex and I are proud of this book,” Tapper said, referring to his co-author Alex Thompson of Axios.
Tapper has also been the target of much well-deserved criticism for cashing in on the “cover up” that he himself was a part of as a member of a media that denounced observers of Biden’s obvious mental deterioration as conspiracy theorists and rejected video evidence as “cheap fakes” only to have their gaslighting debunked by the geriatric Democrat himself at last summer’s disastrous CNN debate, which the author/anchor moderated.
