Candace Owens blasts ‘hyper-privileged’ Amy Schumer for bringing up slavery in abortion rant

Candace Owens put “hyper-privileged liberals” like Amy Schumer in check on Friday for urging black people to protest the historic Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

“If there’s a picket sign anywhere, Amy Schumer picks it up,” Owens said in an Instagram video. “She just is like, ‘I have to be outside screaming about something. My life is over-privileged and amazing and I have to be upset.”

“But I’m not going to allow this,” she continued, “because I’m going to speak up for black Americans. This woman got a megaphone today and decided to speak out about the Roe v. Wade overturning and had the audacity to correlate it to slavery.”

In response to the SCOTUS ruling, Schumer wrote on Instagram that the Supreme Court came to its decision by following the “intentions of a bunch of slave-owning rapists who’ve been dead for hundreds of years.”

The comment prompted Owens’ video, which she captioned “Roe v. Wade gets overturned and hyper-privileged liberals want black people to protest on their behalf? Again? No. Not this time.”

“This is a Hollywood trope almost,” Owens stated. “White wealthy women in Hollywood love to basically say, ‘I either get what I want or I’m going to correlate to slavery.” This is their thing.”

The outspoken Daily Wire host blasted Schumer and liberals like her for using black people and bringing up slavery over issues that “have nothing to do with race.”

“She’s using this because she’s being whiny and she’s being bratty, and she thinks it’s acceptable to harness black pain to get what she wants,” Owens claimed, noting how Black Lives Matter used George Floyd’s 2020 death to gain support and rake in millions.

The hypocrisy of using racism as it relates to slavery as a way to prop up pro-abortion arguments, she says, is evident in Planned Parenthood’s founder Margaret Sanger, a white woman whose ideas on eugenics and birth control were weaponized against black communities.

“The black population today would be double if it weren’t for Planned Parenthood,” Owens said.

But as annoying as it is to see wealthy white celebrities use blacks for a political agenda, it must be far more frustrating when, given the devastating impact of Planned Parenthood on the community, wealthy blacks do it — but that’s exactly what Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) couldn’t wait to do.

As BizPac Review reported, the 83-year-old Waters could be seen wagging her finger and encouraging people to defy the Supreme Court.

“To hell with the Supreme Court,” she shouted at the cameras. “We will defy them!”

And to Owen’s point, by “we,” Waters meant black women.

“[I]f they think black women are intimidated or afraid, they’ve got another thought coming,” she promised. “Black women will be out in droves! We will be out by the thousands. We will be out by the millions. We are going to make sure we fight for the right to control our own bodies!”
