Cardi B throws mic at a fan who threw a drink at her mid-song, proving she was lip-synching all along

One performer turned the tables on the latest concertgoer to hurl a projectile on stage, her second mic turned fastball in a day’s time.

Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar Cephus is better known by her stage name Cardi B and Saturday the “I Like It” rapper found new purpose for her microphone beyond a prop for apparent lip-synching.

The incident occurred at Drai’s Beachclub in Las Vegas, Nevada when the entertainer was in the middle of a performance of her song “Bodak Yellow.” As seen from multiple angles in video shared to social media, a woman’s hand holding a cup filled with an unknown liquid could be seen reaching up from the crowd near the stage before flicking the contents in the direction of the stage.

The visibly surprised Cardi B’s expression shifted from shock to rage after the drink splashed her, and tight-lipped she wound back and chucked her microphone in the direction of the offending audience member, appearing to hit someone else as her voice played on.

To say the response from the performer, who had the mic returned to her while security dealt with the splasher, was an overreaction may be more than just an understatement as additional footage from the show revealed she had encouraged another audience member to toss their drink on her as she thrust her rear end toward the crowd and said “Put that sh*t in my p*ssy b*tch.”

Later on she told the crowd, “I don’t wanna look that ghetto b*tch. I said splash my p*ssy not my face b*tch.”

Of course, the outburst from Cardi B was actually a followup to her hurling her mic the night before at a DJ while performing her song “I Like It” at Drai’s Nightclub. Video posted to TikTok showed her continually getting thrown off during the song as the DJ sprinkled in cuts to the music.

By the end of the song, the barefoot rapper held up her mic, shouted “Cardi B!” then spun around and chucked it toward the liberty-taking accompanist before storming off stage.

The rapper was only the latest performer to express their displeasure with audience members chucking things at the stage as last month singer Pink was left confused after someone had reportedly chucked a loved ones cremated remains her way.

Meanwhile, Bebe Rexha had suffered a black eye and required stitches after someone had trown their cellphone at her face while she was performing in New York City in June.

Cardi B’s decision to use her microphone to express her anger had the unintended added consequence of revealing that, though the device worked for ad libbing and speaking to the crowd, she hadn’t been using it for her songs.

The realization harkened back to a controversy that predated the rapper’s birth as Milli Vanilli began trending on social media.
