A standoff between Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents and locals in Chicago erupted Tuesday morning.
Prior to the standoff, an illegal alien rammed his red SUV into a federal patrol car, resulting in a U.S. Border Patrol vehicle chase.
During the chase, DHS agents used an “authorized precision immobilization technique (PIT) maneuver” to hit the illegal alien’s SUV and sent it flying backwards through an intersection.
The red SUV ended up crashing into another car, after which two individuals jumped out of it and tried to flee. That’s when DHS agents swarmed the streets, prompting anti-immigration enforcement locals to swarm the streets as well.
“All the [federal authorities] just started coming out of nowhere,” a witness anonymously told CNN. “And so then the neighborhood started coming too because there was too many … agents there.”

This is insane!

“Border Patrol agents eventually arrested the two individuals and tried to secure the scene as the crowd turned ‘hostile,'” CNN reported, citing a statement from DHS. “Eventually, crowd control measures were used.”
Local police reportedly arrived on the scene around 11:00 am to de-escalate, but that’s when the crowd started throwing objects, including rocks, prompting the DHS agents to unleash tear gas.
The crowd reportedly dispersed afterward.
Locals later alleged that their anger stemmed from the vehicle chase evidently interrupting their lives.
“We’re angry at them for chasing people in our neighborhood, going full velocity on these streets when, you know, we have children walk around,” a witness whined. “These children are going to school, you know? And they’re flying down the streets.”
The witness failed to mention that they were “flying down the streets” in the chase of dangerous illegal aliens who’d rammed into their vehicle.
Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker predictably came to the defense of the crowd, saying that the DHS’s alleged mistreatment of the crowd was “abominable” and that it was wrong for DHS agents to target them “just when they’re holding signs and expressing themselves.”
“I’ve never seen it like this in the United States of America,” he added, according to the Associated Press.

Beatrice Ponce de Leon, Chicago’s deputy mayor for immigrant, migrant, and refugee rights, also blasted the feds versus the illegal aliens who’d rammed their vehicle into a federal patrol car.
“There’s absolutely no reason to have this type of chaos happening in our communities, putting people at risk, putting people in harm’s way, and just exacerbating the fear that people feel right now,” she said.
“This type of escalation is what is going to cause harm; it’s not the people of Chicago, but it’s the federal agents,” she added.
And last up was Illinois state. Sen. Elgie Sims.
“Using a chemical agent to disperse a crowd is unjust,” he said in a statement reported by NewsNation. “No person should be targeted by the color of their skin, and no group should be attacked for standing up for what is right.”
“Now is not the time for hate and divisiveness. Now is the time to stand united as a community and to protect our neighbors,” he added.
DHS, meanwhile, released its statement warning that the bad behavior observed Tuesday is part of a growing trend.
“This incident is not isolated and reflects a growing and dangerous trend of illegal aliens violently resisting arrest and agitators and criminals ramming cars into our law enforcement officers,” a spokesperson told local station WGN.
“The fact that this attack was carried out by two illegal immigrants highlights the need for federal law enforcement to continue to do their job of enforcing the laws of our nation — all while receiving no pay thanks to the Democrats’ government shutdown,” they added.
