Children’s hospital ‘navigator on gender’ describes possibility of live donor uterus transplants for trans women

Described by many as “insidious” or worse, a children’s hospital employee’s presentation promoting a study on reproductive organ swaps between live patients and his “desire to push us in that direction” was met with outrage by concerned citizens.

Whether referring to Assistant Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine and the push for “gender-affirming care,” which can include genital mutilation surgery, or President Joe Biden’s reference to these irreversible treatments for kids while signing the so-called Respect for Marriage act, the danger posed to confused children can be seen at all levels in public institutions.

On Thursday, a parental rights advocate highlighted one such threat in the form of the University of Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital’s Community Navigator for Gender and Sexual Development Program, Alicyn Simpson. Working for the hospital’s Department of Pediatrics, Simpson, who claims to be a woman, was filmed at a presentation on “Fertility in the LGBTQIA+ community” in May, talking up uterine transplants.

“One area that had not been looked at before in any serious way was could the donors be live donors,” Simpson was heard presenting.

“Live donation has been something the [transgender] community has talked about for decades, it was really seen as magical thinking,” Simpson continued while promoting the idea of men wanting to be women and women wanting to be men swapping reproductive organs with the intended outcome of a man being able to birth a child.

“Well I have these parts, but I don’t want them. You want them, you need them,” Simpson claimed. “So what if I gave them to you? How would that work? And apparently, based on their research this is actually viable.”

Simpson’s discussion also included commenting on the criteria that the medical community supposedly uses when discussing the potential for gender transition in adolescents, but one of the sticking points of the presentation was Simpson’s own considerations of wanting to give birth and admission that, “One of the main reasons I do the work I do is the desire to push us in that direction.”

The off-putting presentation included reactions like that of commentator Ian Miles Cheong who tweeted, “There’s something insidious about taking wombs from perfectly healthy young women and transplanting them into men,” before sharing a quote attributed to Nikola Tesla, “You may live to see man-made horrors beyond your comprehension.”

One respondent suggested, “The word ‘insidious’ is far too mild. Loathsome. Horrifying. Detestable. Diabolical. Appalling. Such an offense to the Creator, the judgment will be terrible,” and another followed up the Tesla quote with two attributed to Albert Einstein and wrote, “It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity,” as well as, “Science can only ascertain what is, but not what should be, and outside of its domain value judgements of all kinds remain necessary.”

The Catholic non-profit group American Life League spoke out against the promotion of the study as well and wrote, “The uterus is not an accessory one swaps out like a handbag. Non-paired/paired organs can be transplanted because these are 1:1. The physiological differences in male/female reproductive anatomy make the transplantation of functioning, reproductive organs impossible.”

Meanwhile, the website for the pediatrics department alone boasts $34 million in annual support from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) showing how these sorts of studies and procedures are getting promoted by the federal government.

At the same time, Levine has been pushing for Big Tech to suppress those speaking out negatively against these topics and claimed in December, “There is substantial misinformation about gender-affirming care for transgender and gender-diverse individuals.”

By his standard, the fact that Dr. Jonathan Fletcher, a clinic coordinator once associated with the hospital, said in a 2014 video that, “We’re a center that provides comprehensive care for teenager and young adults between the ages of 12 through age 26,” would likely be suppressed.

As would Simpson’s own suggestion that “Mature minors can make these sorts of decisions.”
