City council member’s call to ‘dismantle the white backdrop,’ racial and anti-Semitic rants have colleagues on edge

Colleagues of a Democrat Boston City Council member are increasingly wary of revolutionary ravings of the left-wing official who some suspect may be mentally unwell.

Tania Fernandes Anderson has called for a revolution and to “dismantle the white backdrop” in America, a sentiment that may make her a hero to fellow leftists but has contributed to an “unhealthy” work environment for other council members.

Elected in November 2021, Fernandes Anderson has been described as a “troubled person” who uses racial intimidation to bully others to fall in line. She has described herself as “the first formally undocumented African-born immigrant & first Muslim elected in the city of Boston.”

“People are intimidated by her. And that intimidation does work,” one city hall employee told Fox News Digital, telling the outlet that members will give in because “no one want[s] to disagree with Tania because she’s unpredictable,” discussing the challenges of having an individual in government who they view as “hostile, verbally abusive and antisemitic.”

The councilwoman is prone to outbursts and casually throwing around accusations of racism, as she did during an August 2022 city council meeting over redistricting.

“The last thing someone wants is to be labeled as a racist in this city,” the anonymous source told Fox News Digital, noting that the councilwoman has a reputation for her outbursts that feature “swearing, yelling and screaming” at public meetings, most of it being about race and supposed oppression by the white system.

“It will be about equity, and I hope we don’t have too many disagreements in there,” she said in a December 2021 interview, stating that it’s time for a revolution. “I think that systemic racism is long overdue for us to overthrow it in order for us to create a revolution that brings about change.”

“Don’t come for me, because if you want smoke, you’ll get smoke. I’m not afraid of any of you,” Fernandes Anderson said at a meeting in March.

“It’s a threat. I feel like it’s a threat,” the unnamed city hall employee told the outlet of the councilwoman’s threatening language.

She labeled the council as “depraved” and “stupidly racially divided” during one of her unhinged tirades.

“I can’t even call you guys cowards because desperation deserves mercy,” Fernandes Anderson raved. “Your votes here sometimes are racist… I am here to represent every black woman and man in the community.”

“What the f**k do I have to do in this f**king council to get respect as a black woman,” she shouted, pounding the table with her fist for extra emphasis.

Fernandes Anderson once reportedly sent a text to a colleague ordering them to “toughen the f**k up,” menacing language from the Democrat bully.

“Whatever the f**k is the problem work it out and leave out your evil resentments. Toughen the f**k up… I don’t want to always feel I need to give anyone smoke because when it comes to family, I know we are all capable of becoming warriors,” she said.

In another rant, this time an anti-Semitic one, she threw a tantrum shortly after the Hamas terror organization’s October 7, 2023 attack on Israeli civilians in which over 1,200 people were slaughtered. Her resolution to call the attack a “military operation” instead of a raid of barbaric savagery failed to draw support from her colleagues.

“It’s ridiculous. Get up and oppose all killing of all civilians, of all children, not just the ones that line up with your political bullsh*t,” she ranted.

“No Jew that is praying that is faithful and righteous is killing children,” she said after Israel retaliated militarily in Gaza. “These people are political animals.”

“It’s very disturbing,” the anonymous source told Fox News Digital about her anti-Israel diatribe.

“I think she’s a troubled person. I don’t necessarily want to see someone that’s troubled get into more problems. But it is a problem [that she is in government],” the person said.
