Clintons buck Obama backstab, stand by Joe Biden – Hillary dubbed ‘mightiest of all’ replacements

As the Clintons reportedly picked a side in the squabble over the Democratic Party ticket, a puff piece deeming the twice-failed candidate “mightiest of all” led some to one conclusion.

“SHE’S RUNNING!!!”

A growing number of high-ranking Democrats have reportedly been added to the list of party members calling for President Joe Biden to step aside with only weeks remaining before the convention, including Senate Leader Chuck Schumer (NY) and former President Barack Obama.

Now, according to a report from NBC News White House correspondent Monica Alba, the Clintons have bucked that trend and taken a stand in support of the incumbent.

“Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have privately been supportive of President Biden’s decision to stay in the race and have been actively encouraging donors to stay with him, according to two people familiar with the Clinton’s thinking,” Alba posted to X Saturday.

She continued, “Both sources used the word ‘deferential’ to describe the Clintons’ position as it relates to Biden’s commitment to continue his campaign. Behind the scenes, the Clintons have been in touch with the White House and have offered to help however they can, these people said.”

Like Obama, former President Clinton had appeared at high-dollar fundraisers for the Biden campaign as well as state dinners at the White House. Donors in particular were marked as a catalyst behind some calls to opt for a new ticket as Obama was said to have been “taking calls from many anxious Democrats” and NBC News had reported a week after Biden’s debate disasters that he was “facing an uprising from some of his own party’s wealthy donors.”

Writing for The Hill Saturday, Pablo O’Hana made his pitch for why Hillary Clinton should be gifted the nomination despite having lost to then-candidate Donald Trump in 2016 under the banner, “Ready for Round 2: Why we Need Hillary more than ever.”

“If Biden is to yield the arena, we must consider why Clinton is not just a fitting champion to take up the mantle, but perhaps the mightiest of all,” he wrote while suggesting, “Clinton is a ready-made replacement. She possesses an unparalleled resume and an unmatched depth of experience. She has consistently redefined the roles she has served, from secretary of State and U.S. senator to first lady and Children’s Defense Fund attorney.”

“Her extensive background in domestic and international affairs is not just impressive; at a time when global politics are increasingly volatile and complex, her experience is priceless,” O’Hana fawned. “Her continued advocacy for children’s rights and health care–a topic of ever-increasing importance post-pandemic–adds another layer of appeal.”

The opinion piece turned its attention to a Bendixen & Amandi Inc. poll from early July that considered notable Democrats chances against Trump and sold the results as Clinton being “favored to take down Trump, 43 percent to 41 percent,” without any mention of the 10% undecided voters or the Reuters/Ipsos poll released days earlier that showed former First Lady Michelle Obama beating Trump 50%-39%.

No matter the spin of the sell, Trump senior advisor Jason Miller called out what the op-ed signaled as he declared on X, “SHE’S RUNNING!!! These opinion pieces don’t happen organically — Crooked is on the move!!!”

The assertion prompted others to sound off as well, calling out the ominous, if not “desperate,” connotation of the possibility.
