Instead of investigating the anti-American ties of the Democratic nominee for Senate in Michigan, corporate media continued to question the GOP’s “hint, hint” use of his full name.

Whether Marxist ideologies or Islamism is perceived as the greater threat to the United States, Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed appeared to many to be a harbinger of both. Despite his radical views and affiliations called out in a recent ad, CNN chief congressional correspondent Manu Raju saw fit to take a xenophobic slant to challenge South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott (R) on whether the use of El-Sayed’s full name was meant to signal to voters, “he’s Muslim.”
Sitting for an interview on Capitol Hill in his capacity as char of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Scott was asked about the NRSC’s 30-second spot that began, “Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed, the most radical Senate candidate in America,” before a clip of the nominee saying “I’m pretty d*mn dangerous!”
“And I saw your early attack ads against him,” said Raju. “You’re using his full name in these attack ads, which has gotten some attention: Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed. He goes by Abdul El-Sayed. Are you trying to say ‘hint, hint’ to voters, ‘he’s Muslim?'”
“Not at all,” began the lawmaker’s response, “… what we’re only saying to voters is a simple thing. He’s saying he’s the most dangerous candidate you can find. He’s right. We should trust his words, not ours.”
“But, why not just use his name, Abdul El-Sayed, which he goes by?” came the follow-up to which Scott contended, “Well, listen, I go by Timothy Eugene, and so, I get called that all the time. Here’s what I know without question: it’s about what he stands for. And we’re going to focus and bring attention to the fact that not only is he sympathetic for Hamas, not only does he run around with Hasan Piker — someone who said that Americans deserved 9/11 — he should be held account for exactly where he stands and what he’s for.”
Within the ad in question, the NRSC featured a 2011 HuffPost article attributed to then-Columbia University assistant professor — notably using his full first name, Abdulrahman, in the byline — as the Arab Spring was underway. In it, El-Sayed downplayed concerns about the Muslim Brotherhood taking control in Egypt a year before, as Just the News reported in June, he signed a statement “which defended the Muslim Brotherhood’s rule of Egypt and further defended a massive power grab by Mohammed Morsi, the leader of the Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood.”

As previously reported, much as NBC News’ Kristen Welker focused on the “radical” and “dangerous” descriptors in the ad, the Democrats disinterest in concerns about the Muslim Brotherhood played out the day after El-Sayed’s primary victory.
During a Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R) highlighted the absence of any member from across the aisle and said, “The American people should ask themselves, why? Not a single member of the minority decided that a hearing on terrorism was worth their time.”
“It is an embarrassment and a disservice to the thousands of American victims of the Muslim Brotherhood, including, most recently, the dozens of Americans who died on October 7th at the hand of Gaza’s Muslim Brotherhood branch, Hamas,” added the senator.
During the hearing, Cruz presented El-Sayed’s familial ties as son-in-law to a “leading member of several Brotherhood groups.”
Additionally, as Americans increasingly woke up to the spread of Islamism in the United States, taking stands against plans to build mosques and no-go zones observing Sharia as preeminent to local laws and the Constitution, the Muslim Brotherhood reportedly “celebrated” El-Sayed’s primary victory on the front page of its website, as covered by The Midwesterner.
