CNN host says Trump ‘hush money’ charges wouldn’t have been brought against anyone else

CNN’s Fareed Zakaria isn’t likely to win many fans now that he’s come out and stated the obvious, that the New York case against former President Donald J. Trump is based on selective prosecution.

The sole remaining hope of taking out former Trump before the election rests on the malicious case brought by Soros-backed New York City DA Alvin Bragg centering on “hush money” payments to porn queen Stormy Daniels, flimsy charges at best which according to Zakaria, wouldn’t have even been brought against anyone else.

On Sunday’s edition of “Fareed Zakaria: GPS Sunday,” the CNN host noted that the sham trials have only made Trump stronger because his supporters see the legal dirty pool as being politically motivated.

“The trials against him keep him in the spotlight, infuriate his base, who sees him as a martyr and even may serve to make him the object of some sympathy among people in general who believe that his prosecutors are politically motivated,” he said.

“This happens to be true, in my opinion. I doubt the New York indictment would have been brought against a defendant whose name was not Donald Trump,” Zakaria added. “A number of Americans are skeptical that Trump will be able to get a fair trial according to a CNN poll.”

The host was referring to a CNN poll from last month which was taken as the once-esteemed cable network was gearing up for its lurid blow-by-blow coverage of the Daniels trial which it has reported on in a sensationalist, bias-saturated manner, only serving to reinforce the view of many that the deck has been unfairly stacked against Trump and the media is in on it.

In the poll, only 44 percent of Americans were confident that the jury pulled from a toxic New York City pool “will be able to reach a fair verdict,” a number that is possibly much higher now, especially after Daniels’ testimony, and could further crater this week when Bragg’s star witness, disgraced ex-lawyer and convicted felon Michael Cohen takes the stand.

Zakaria, who is no fan of the former president, also warned that the polls don’t accurately reflect the deep level of support for Trump and that despite the gaslighting about the economy, Biden is in big trouble on that critical issue and more.

Billionaire investor Bill Ackman reacted to Zakaria’s truth bomb by sharing video of his remarks on X and predicting that Trump is going to win in a landslide.

“The polls say @POTUS Biden is going to lose to @realDonaldTrump. And the polls always understate Trump’s support as Biden voters are not shy about their support for him whereas Trump voters are more cagey when talking to pollsters,” he wrote.

“I would not be surprised for it to be a landslide,” Ackman added. “Listen to@FareedZakaria. He does not hold back from the truth.”

Now that the Democrat lawfare is crumbling at the worst possible time for the party, it’s no longer forbidden to criticize the outlandish weaponizing of the law for political reasons and Zakaria likely didn’t endear himself to his rabidly partisan CNN colleagues by going there.
