President Joe Biden’s pitiable claims about his son’s innocence were challenged in CNN’s latest callout against the White House’s preferred narrative.

After getting found out for misrepresenting the testimony of Hunter Biden’s former business partner Devon Archer, New York Rep. Dan Goldman (D) continued his shameless defense of the president against allegations of influence peddling.
However, appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday, host Jake Tapper wouldn’t readily gloss over the president’s staunch position on his son’s culpability.
Playing a clip of Biden’s assurance to MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle that “My son has done nothing wrong,” Tapper turned to his guest and expressed, “I understand this is a dad talking about his son, but it’s also the president of the United States talking about a potential defendant in a case that his Justice Department is prosecuting. Also, he was about to plead guilty to some things that he did wrong.”
“Does the president need to stop saying his son did nothing wrong?” the host wondered.
In response, Goldman began, “I think the president has been very clear that he’s gonna let the process play out. What we do know is through all of the investigations in Congress…they are simply investigating a private citizen. Hunter Biden is not running for president. Joe Biden is running for president, and he is the president, and yet notwithstanding all of the time effort, and all of the moving goalposts, there’s no evidence connecting President Biden to any of his son’s business dealings.”
Still not answering the question, the New York lawmaker added, “You can sing all you want and make all sorts of accusations, but the fact of the matter is that President Biden — there’s been no evidence to show that he’s been involved in anything. So Hunter Biden will be treated by the Department of Justice as he should be, but Congress needs to stop investigating a private citizen and stop this fishing expedition to try to link President Biden to Hunter Biden’s conduct when there is no evidence to support that.”
Similar claims to no evidence were foisted by Hunter’s attorney Abbe Lowell when he spoke with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins Friday while deflecting the potential that the probe of the son would connect back to the father.
“You’ve had dozens of members of Congress and their staff, you’ve had dozens of members of right-wing media picking and trying to find the connection between Hunter and his business and other family members, and they have come up with nothing because there’s nothing to come up with,” the attorney claimed before pushing back on Collins repeated question about a link.
“What I know is what the evidence has revealed. I mean, that is what people should focus on,” suggested Lowell.
Goldman’s blatant disregard for facts also played out in his attempt to regard Attorney General Merrick Garland’s actions as wholly impartial to the whims of the administration. “That is pretty remarkable. And you don’t hear from the other side respect for the fact that Joe Biden has stayed out of this investigation.”
“And so I defer to Merrick Garland and [Special Counsel] David Weiss. If Hunter Biden has committed crimes, he should be charged with them,” the legislator said as though it were merely a slim possibility. “I’m a Democrat saying that. You don’t hear any currently-elected Republican saying that if Donald Trump committed crimes, he should be charged with them and held accountable. And that’s a critical distinction that the public needs to understand.”
The public was not so willing as Tapper to allow Goldman’s assertions to go unchecked.
So says the man who was the lead counsel in two false impeachment efforts. The ultimate in hypocrisy and deceit. You should be disbarred.
