‘Congress needs to get some guts’ and unify against Biden and his son, says Chaffetz

Fox News contributor Jason Chaffetz urged GOP leaders to “get organized” and “unify” Republicans against President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.

Shown a montage of President Biden denying any wrongdoing on his part or by his son on Fox News’s Friday episode of “America Reports,” Chaffetz condemned the elder Biden as a liar.

“First of all, everything that the president said, even as a candidate, turns out to be totally and completely false,” Chaffetz stated. “There is more than ample evidence to demonstrate that he was deeply involved and that the Biden family was enriched financially. There’s no doubt that if the Democrats had even half of what Republicans have, they would’ve already impeached this guy.”

The former Utah congressman said he believes the Republicans are dealing with the stunning revelations from IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler “responsibly” and praised Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) for releasing an unclassified FBI document detailing an alleged $10 million Biden family bribery scheme.

In the June 2020 document, a confidential human source alleged that the Bidens coerced Burisma CEO Mykola Zlochevsky to pay them millions so he could get rid of the Ukrainian prosecutor investigating his company.

“No doubt,” Chaffetz reiterated, “Democrats would have already impeached.”

Still, he said, Republicans have more work to do.

“I think the Republicans still have to lay the foundation to move forward with impeachment. There’s still more to go,” he stated. “They have to still get more documents. They need the suspicious activity reports. They need the bank records. They need the phone records. And they need a Department of Justice that cooperates and a duly issued subpoena.”

“All of this ties together,” Chaffetz said, “but you have an administration and compliant Democrats in Congress who have no curiosity, and a traditional media who is totally absent and playing for the Bidens, not playing for America first.”

As for Democrats who insist the accusations against the Bidens have been debunked, Chaffetz called it “a total fabrication.”

“That’s a total fabrication – what the White House has said every single step of the way has been a complete and total lie,” he stated.

“And you know what?” Chaffetz added. “Congress needs to get some guts. They need to get organized. I want to see Mitch McConnell standing there with Speaker McCarthy unified and get all Republicans.”

“Why do they just leave it off to the side for a handful of Republicans to express frustration?” he asked. “I don’t want to see a single other thing from this speaker and the minority leader until they actually unify and take a position and demand that these things happen. When that happens, things happen in Washington, D.C. But right now, nothing.”
