Country music star Zach Bryan dons ‘Free Palestine’ shirt at Gillette Stadium after Macklemore ban

Country singer Zach Bryan put on a “Free Palestine” shirt for his Gillette Stadium show on Friday.

The stadium’s owner, Robert Kraft, had reportedly previously blocked Macklemore from performing as part of Ed Sheeran’s tour, which was linked to his pro-Palestinian stance. Bryan didn’t appear to be afraid of landing on Kraft’s bad side on Friday.

The backlash was pretty immediate on social media:

“ZACH BRYAN JUST FORGOT WHO BUYS HIS TICKETS. He walked onto the stage at Robert Kraft’s own stadium in a ‘Free Palestine’ shirt to pick a fight with the owner, and he did it in front of a crowd full of working Americans who came to hear country music,” X user ‘Gunther Eagleman’ wrote on Saturday morning. “Those fans didn’t pay to be lectured on Middle East politics by a guy who used to headline the Bud Light tour. He should probably ask Bud Light how alienating your base worked out for them.”
