DA Alvin Bragg to charge migrant thugs who beat NYPD cops, defends their release

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg defended himself against criticism after the illegal alien thugs who roughed up two NYPD police officers were allowed to walk but now says that they will be charged.

With public anger rising over the coddling of the foreign criminals who assaulted the cops in Times Square last week, an incident captured on viral video, Bragg released a statement that the illegals will be held accountable for their actions.

“Our office continues to work with law enforcement to bring everyone responsible for these heinous attacks to justice. It is clear from video and other evidence that some of the most culpable individuals have not yet been identified or arrested, and we are working hand in hand with the NYPD to find and hold them accountable for their despicable acts,” Bragg said in the Saturday statement.

“We are simultaneously preparing to present charges to the Grand Jury on Tuesday and will update the public as soon as legally permissible. We will not rest until every person who assaulted a police officer in this awful attack is held accountable,” the left-wing DA added.

The left-wing prosecutor was blasted after four of the suspects were released without bail and reportedly fled to California on a bus, a fifth was also released and became the poster boy for President Joe Biden’s ongoing open borders catastrophe when he flipped off the camera with both middle fingers.

Bragg had previously defended the release of the thugs due to a lack of evidence – despite the existence of the video.

“While the video is shocking and disturbing, in order to secure convictions in a court of law, it is essential that we conclusively identify each defendant,” Bragg said on Friday, according to CBS News. “In a court of law, our profound obligation is to make sure we have right people charged with the right crimes. “I don’t think New Yorkers want to charge the wrong person.”

The Soros-backed DA’s lame excuse wasn’t flying with X users.

Bragg wouldn’t answer questions when he was confronted by reporters after the cop-beating illegals were set free.

“An attack against a police officer is an attack against our entire society. The NYPD is thoroughly investigating this incident, which saw a group of cowards assault two uniformed officers tasked with protecting our community. We will work tirelessly with the office of the Manhattan district attorney to identify and arrest every person who participated in this event,” said NYPD Commissioner Edward A. Cohen in a statement.
