New data about the books sold during the Trump and Biden administrations suggests that nobody really cares as much about President Joe Biden and his wife, first lady Jill Biden.
“NPD BookScan, which tracks book sales in the U.S., said that prominent books about Trump released in his first two years of office outsold Biden books during his first year and a half by, what an official there said was, ‘essentially 10:1,'” Politico reported Friday.
As an example, NPD BookScan reportedly pointed to a biography about the current first lady that sold slightly under 250 copies in its first week.
Oof …
And this despite the book, “Jill: A Biography of the First Lady,” being written by two Associated Press reporters AND being promoted nonstop by the establishment press:

Jill: A Biography of the First Lady charts the story of Jill becoming a mother to Beau, Hunter, and Ashley, and breaking barriers with her decision to work outside the White House. https://t.co/FWxw6fK7HY

Politico’s reporting left some members of the public confused. After all, according to the official results of the 2020 presidential election, Biden received the most votes of any president in American history. Thus, the president and his family must be popular people, no?
Apparently not …
How humiliating. Jill Biden’s biography only sold 250 copies it’s first week. It blows my mind considering her husband is the most popular president in American history.

Will the Ministry of Truth VERIFY the fact that Jill Biden’s new biography only sold 250 copies in it’s first week?
81 million votes. The most popular President & wife in American history my ass! 🤣😂— Lisa Smith- WAR. People die. Elites get rich. (@LisaS4680) April 30, 2022
it’s so embarrassing that jill biden only sold 250 copies of her book in the first week 😂 what happened to the biden administrations fan-club of 81 million voters? 🤔

You have to give them a couple of days. They haven’t tallied all of the overnight sales yet. It’s projected to sell 100 million

250 sold but it shows 81 million. Weird.
— American Owned Apparel (@americanownedap) April 29, 2022
They never claimed the 81 million could read.

The Twitter user who wrote that the book’s “projected to sell 100 million” was presumably being sarcastic.
Despite being released on April 19th, as of April 30th, the book had only two reviews — both of them admittedly 5 stars — on Amazon.
Look:

The book has predictably not made Amazon’s Best Sellers list. On the list instead were at least two books by conservatives — one by The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh, and another by Fox News’ Tyrus.
There’s also a book on the list partly about Trump: “This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America’s Future.”
Note that the latter book, written by two New York Times reporters, hasn’t even been released, yet it’s already apparently outperforming the book about the first lady.
Some critics are surprised that the book about Jill Biden even sold 250 copies:
More importantly, who are the 250 people that bought it ……yikes

How did it sell that many?
— Jebertarian (@TheJebertarian) April 29, 2022
As to why the book about the first lady is faring so poorly, critics have some theories:
Guess people just aren’t that interested in books by medical doctors. 🙄

Having read her doctoral thesis, I can understand why….

Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump has reportedly been making millions from a simple ol’ coffee book he recently wrote.
“A few months ago, former President Donald Trump signed a book deal. There wasn’t the huge fanfare most former presidents receive when they ink deals for a memoir; news of the book, a coffee table tome with pictures detailing Trump’s presidency — retailing about $75 and $230 if signed — made barely a blip in the media,” CNN reported in February.
“But the deal, which CNN can confirm included a multimillion dollar advance for Trump, has quickly and significantly plumped the pockets of the former President. Sales of the book, ‘Our Journey Together,’ grossed $20 million in less than two months since it went on sale in late November, two people familiar with the publishing of the book told CNN. Part of the book’s popularity among Trump’s base is the captions, all of which he wrote himself, and most of which feature unbridled hot takes on his political enemies.”
In contrast, the hardcover edition of Jill Biden’s biography retails for $26, meaning if it sold 250 copies in its first week, it produced only $6525 or so in sales.
To be fair, Trump’s coffee table book is currently being sold at a significantly higher price of $67.49. But still, his book boasts a whopping 848 ratings as of April 30th, with an average rating of 4.7:
