Dave Chappelle rips San Francisco hellscape in surprise gig: ‘What the f**k happened to this place?’

Comedian Dave Chappelle blasted San Francisco’s hellish landscape, slamming its homelessness, crime, and drug addiction problems during an unexpected appearance at the Masonic Auditorium in the City by the Bay last week, asking, “What the f**k happened to this place?”

During the appearance on Thursday, Chappelle shared with the audience that he saw a homeless person defecating outside an Indian restaurant where he was about to eat.

He asserted that San Francisco had morphed into a “half ‘Glee,’ half zombie movie,” according to SFGATE’s review of the show. He noted that the entire city had turned into the Tenderloin. The Tenderloin district in San Francisco is notorious for its crime, homelessness, and drug problems.

“Y’all [expletive] need a Batman!” Chappelle declared, eluding to the fact that the city had turned into Gotham.

Images across the city show massive homeless encampments, people defecating in the streets, addicts shooting up and dying on the spot from fentanyl and other drugs, and a crime wave that has engulfed the entire area. It gives all the appearance of being a gateway to hell.

Chappelle put on the last-minute show in the city he calls his second home. There were no special guests at the event.

Just addressing the deterioration of San Francisco took up the entire act. Chappelle did not do any segments on transgenders, instead, he focused on the homeless population and the crime problem that is destroying the city.

SFGATE is reporting that an estimated 38,000 people in the city are homeless on any given night. That’s a shocking 35 percent increase since 2019. The overdose deaths are off the charts among the homeless there. Apparently, as fast as they die, more flow in to take their place.

In the first quarter of 2023, there was a stunning 41 percent surge in the number of drug-related deaths compared to the same time last year. Fentanyl is ravaging the homeless. As they die on the sidewalks, people just step around them.

Two hundred people died due to an overdose between January and March. In 2022 at this same time, 142 died according to recent data from the city’s medical examiner. According to the Daily Mail, that equates to an overdose death every 10 hours. Of the deaths in the first quarter, 159 were linked to fentanyl. It’s 50-100 times stronger than morphine and is flowing in from Mexico with the help of the communist Chinese.

It’s not just the homeless and overdose deaths that elitists tend to ignore unless it’s for political gain. Not even the tech billionaires are safe from the crime in the city and it is worsening daily.

The majority of overdose victims are reportedly black and Latino men and most occur in the Tenderloin district. But it is spreading rapidly to every segment of the city. Images of drug use on the streets and squalid homeless encampments are now the norm in San Francisco.

The sharp uptick in deaths follows the progressive solution by Democrats in the city to shutter the Tenderloin Center, where addicts were allowed to get high and the overdose drug Narcan was available.

As for crime, it is exploding despite all efforts by leftists in the city.

Fox News is reporting on just one of the latest incidents where two armed suspects were caught on camera robbing a 61-year-old Asian man in the Sunset District on Thursday.

They approached the terrified victim in his garage near 20th and Santiago streets at around 7:30 pm. The men held the man at gunpoint and stole his jade pendant necklace, which was worth about $4,000. The man’s 22-year-old son was also in the garage during the robbery.

“Got no money, got no money… got no money man, come on,” the victim is heard telling the robbers clad in black in the video. He kept telling them “No trouble, no trouble,” before calling for police as they fled the scene in a burgundy Dodge Charger.

The victim stated that crime in the City by the Bay is now uncontrollable and that people should be careful what they wear out in public. The police are pretty much impotent in San Francisco these days.

“There’s nothing you can do about it,” he told FOX 2 San Francisco. “These days, just don’t wear anything valuable.”
