The year 2024 is getting off to a wild start already, as seen in a remarkable courtroom video capturing a criminal violently attacking a Las Vegas judge.
Deobra Redden, 30, a three-time felon, was being sentenced on a charge of attempted battery with substantial bodily harm after he “[threatened] to bust the kneecaps” of another man, “resulting in substantial bodily harm,” KLAS reported, citing court documents.
Redden was seeking probation for the charge, but Clark County District Court Judge Mary Kay Holthus denied the request while saying, “I think it’s time he gets a taste of something else.”
The defendant was then heard saying, “Oh, f*ck that, bitch!”
At the same time, Redden made a dash for the bench and in a flying leap cleared it to knock Holthus from her chair. A clerk sitting next to the judge intervened immediately, trying to pull the out-of-control thug off the judge as officers of the court scrambled to intervene.

Holthus hit her head during the brutal attack but was reportedly OK. A court spokesperson said her injuries were “being monitored,” according to KLAS.
A marshal suffered a large gash to his forehead and was taken to a hospital in stable condition, a court spokesperson said.

“We commend the heroic acts of her staff, law enforcement, and all others who subdued the defendant,” the spokesperson said. “The court remains committed to a safe and secure courthouse and courtrooms. We are reviewing all our protocols and will do whatever is necessary to protect the judiciary, the public and our employees.”
Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said in a statement: “Thank God the judge is okay. Thank God for the heroic efforts of those who came to her aid, especially her marshal and her law clerk. Without them, the situation would have been much worse as this defendant exhibited extremely violent behavior and I’m confident there will be consequences.”
Redden was booked into the Clark County jail on new charges of battery and battery on a protected person.
Social media users has serious questions about security protocols in Clark County courtrooms… here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
The judge got it right, imagine him outside on probation? At least he won’t have any parole hearings anytime soon.

How is a guy like that not handcuffed in court?

Unpopular hot take: Our justice system is way too lenient. People need to be scared of consequences.

That’ll be another 10 years at least

The irony in this video cannot be replicated.
This is the exact type of energy that the left radiates— they’re nothing but crybabies. Hopefully people open their eyes in 2024.

We are currently trying to find an adorable picture of him graduating elementary school for the news piece on this so we can show that this is actually white America’s fault

This is crazy
Criminals are not afraid anymore because they are used to getting away with their crimes.
