Dem mayor in TX breaks ranks, backs bussing illegal migrants to blue cities: ‘They’re not being lied to’

A Democratic mayor in Texas has boldly departed from her party’s ranks and backed the bussing of illegal migrants from border towns to so-called “sanctuary cities” across America.

Yolanda Ramon, mayor pro-tem of Eagle Pass, Texas, which shares three border crossing points with Mexico, dismissed the notion that migrants are being “lied to” and said she believes they appreciate the lifts to U.S. destinations “further up north.”

“I can tell you one thing, they’re not being lied to,” Ramon told Fox News. “You run into them at the gas station, they’ll tell you I just want to go somewhere. I just want to go further up north.”

“They don’t even know where they’re at sometimes,” she explained. “They’ll ask how far is San Antonio? How far is Houston? How far is New York?”

Ramon’s Democratic colleagues have accused Republican governors such as Florida’s Ron DeSantis, Arizona’s Doug Ducey, and Texas Governor Greg Abbott of everything from lying to kidnapping and human trafficking after the fed-up leaders began sending streams of migrants to New York City, Martha’s Vineyard, and even to Vice President Kamala Harris’ doorstep in Washington D.C.

After sending just 50 illegal migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, a George Soros-funded pro-immigrant group launched a lawsuit against DeSantis, who, the suit claims, acted with the help of “unidentified accomplices designed and executed a premeditated, fraudulent, and illegal scheme centered on exploiting this vulnerability for the sole purpose of advancing their own personal, financial and political interests,” American Wire reported last month.

Meanwhile, New York City Mayor Eric Adams asked the federal government to help him deal with the busses of new arrivals to the Big Apple.

“Good luck to them on getting any help from the federal government,” stated the outspoken Ramon. “We’ve been asking for over a year and we haven’t gotten much of that.”

She called the practice of sending the migrants to sanctuary cities “comical” and stated the migrants “know where they’re going” when they’re given a ticket to one of those destinations.

“Of course, they know where they’re going otherwise they wouldn’t be going,” she said.

According to her, the border-jumpers are likely thinking, “You know what, if I don’t have to walk 200 miles to San Antonio, and I can get on a bus and that bus will take me closer to where I want to go to, let me get on that bus.”

That there is a genuine crisis at our nation’s border with Mexico is indisputable.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) states that upwards of 2 million illegal immigrants have been arrested in the U.S. by border officials in just the past 11 months, the Daily Mail reports.

During August, 203,597 migrants were encountered by CBP, up a bit from July’s number, and, since Biden ascended to the White House, there have been more than 3.5 million migrant run-ins with the agency.
