Dem mega-donor: ‘Biden’s endorsement of Kamala is his f*ck you to all who pushed him out’

A donor in revolt called out President Joe Biden’s “f*ck you” to ousters and what that meant for his fundraising efforts.

“Be careful what you wish for.”

Surface-level displays of Democratic unity triggered a ripple effect of support for the current thing which came in the form of Vice President Kamala Harris’ presumptive nomination. While curry-favoring, politicians and social media sycophants prostrated themselves for the party. Those who held the purse strings like mega-donor John Morgan had a different take on Biden’s endorsement of his two-time running mate.

Taking to X little more than an hour after the president announced his withdrawal from the race, the Florida attorney marked the subsequent backing of the vice president as little more than a parting shot from Biden that meant the end of his own financial support.

“Joe Biden’s endorsement of Kamala is his f*ck you to all who pushed him out. Be careful what you wish for,” wrote Morgan as he tagged MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, Politico’s Jonathan Martin, along with Maureen Dowd, Maggie Haberman, and Katie Rogers from the New York Times.

Speaking with ABC News, the donor, who’d reported contributing a million dollars to the campaign, expressed how he saw the potential nomination of Harris as a boon to the Republican Party and former President Donald Trump’s own bid to return to the White House.

“If Trump World could pick anybody to run against, I think they pick her,” he expressed while also explaining how he’d already told the Biden National Finance Committee that Biden backing Harris was the deciding factor in his move to resign from fundraising efforts. “It’s one thing to vote for somebody; it’s another thing to raise millions of dollars for somebody; you have to really be in.”

“If she’s a nominee, Mar a Lago has a real big party that night,” argued Morgan who described himself as a “Biden/Manchin type Dem.”

As it happened, West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin joined “CBS Mornings” Monday to dispel any suggestions that he would be seeking the nomination as he told Tony Dokoupil, “I could not believe that there was not going to be a primary process or a mini-process. Other countries do it. I’m not looking for — I don’t need that as far as in my life.”

Meanwhile, Morgan further explained why he wouldn’t be fundraising on X and wrote, “You have to be enthusiastic or hoping for a political appointment to be asking friends for money. I am neither. It’s others turn now. The donors holding the 90 million can release those funds in the morning. It’s all yours. You can keep my million. And good luck.”

He wasn’t alone in holding a negative opinion of emptying wallets for the vice president as it had been reported that a call with Harris with 300 major donors was described as “rushed,” “mismanaged” and ludicrous,” after she was said to have made them wait 20 minutes before speaking which included being told to “lock in and get behind” Biden.

Amid his aversion to financially supporting Harris, Morgan did allude to candidates he might be willing to back with more than his vote as he argued former First Lady Michelle Obama “wins in a landslide” if she had a ticket with Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro or Manchin.
