It would appear that the memo has been issued on the left to take out Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis ahead of the 2024 presidential election, which may be the best indication yet of how well the popular Republican governor is polling.
DeSantis is in a unique position in that he is taking fire from MAGA world and the corporate media largely responsible for Joe Biden sitting in the White House today, with both sides throwing everything but the kitchen sink at him even though he has yet to indicate any interest in a White House bid. Trump’s fervent supporters are even attacking DeSantis’s wife, the mother of three young children who inspired so many with her recent battle with breast cancer, making a bizarre claim that her middle name was not her “real” name.
As crass as that may be, and it’s pretty damn low, a Democratic opposition researcher pushed an equally bizarre attack line on Monday when he declared that DeSantis — egad! — wore cowboy boots. According to Pat Dennis, the governor wears “high-heeled” cowboy boots so he can appear taller.
“Ron DeSantis consistently wears high-heeled boots in order to appear taller.

The interesting attack line may say more about Dennis and his ignorance of cowboy boots than it does about Gov. DeSantis — Dennis is replaying a 2016 line of attack against Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., who wore a pair of stylish ankle-high boots on the campaign trail.
In reality, there is no such thing as “high-heeled” cowboy boots, but he wasn’t the only liberal to show how little he knows. For some, either they have never been to Florida or have not left city sidewalks long enough to understand just how rural much of the state is or how popular cowboy boots are there:
Is he a cowboy? All hat and no cattle? All boots & no horse? He’s not in Texas or Colorado. He’s in Florida. It is not that common in Florida to wear cowboy boots often.

Florida also ranks 12th in the nation when it comes to the number of beef cows, with an inventory of 895,000, according to the Department of Agriculture.
Fittingly, ridicule rained down on Dennis for what can only be described as a major self-own… here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter:
They’re cowboy boots
