Democrat-led city bused more than 8,800 illegals to New York and Chicago … way more than Abbott!

While it’s receiving zero attention from the left-wing press, the fact remains that the Democrat-led city of El Paso has shipped more illegal aliens to liberal utopias like New York City and Chicago than Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has.

“El Paso, which sits across the border from Juarez, Mexico, has bused roughly 7,000 migrants to New York City since late August and sent more than 1,800 to Chicago, a city-run effort that far exceeds the more ad-hoc transportation of the past,” Reuters reported Thursday.

“The city’s busing effort has received less attention than a separate statewide campaign by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who is seeking a third term in Nov. 8 midterm elections,” according to Reuters.

This despite Abbott having only bussed roughly 3,000 illegals to NYC and 900 or so to Chicago.

That said, there are some alleged differences between El Paso’s efforts and the governor’s efforts.

“El Paso’s Democratic leaders say they are coordinating with receiving cities and that migrants take their chartered buses voluntarily. City officials say their buses were needed because up to 2,000 migrants were arriving daily, including impoverished Venezuelans without family in the United States to pay for onward travel,” Reuters notes.

Liberal mayors like New York City’s Eric Adams have complained that border state governors like Abbott haven’t been coordinating their own shipments of illegal aliens. Instead, they’ve just been dropping off the illegals without any advance notice.

“I believe that Governor Abbot should coordinate with every city that the buses pass through to make sure that they are informed of what he is doing. And there are ways to do that without any political ploy,” Adams said during an ABC News appearance in September.

“We don’t have to stand up on the border to state that the crisis he created is a real crisis. It is time for him to be the chief executive that he is and coordinate with every city in every state the buses passed through so we can properly coordinate as leaders of these major municipalities.”

This alleged lack of coordination reportedly creates problems.

“If there’s not coordination, you’re basically dropping penniless people who don’t speak the language in an unknown city and saying, ‘Fend for yourself,'” Theresa Cardinal Brown of the Bipartisan Policy Center think tank explained to Reuters.

Yet even with El Paso coordinating with major cities, this still isn’t enough for Adams.

“El Paso’s coordination could be better, said New York City mayoral spokesperson Kate Smart. El Paso informs New York when a bus is traveling to the city, but, she adds, officials from both states should discuss beforehand whether the bus actually needs to go New York and how many migrants are onboard,” according to Reuters.

It sounds like Adams would prefer that illegals not be shipped to NYC, period. That, of course, is not going to happen.

El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser, a Democrat, for his part claims his city’s program is “completely different” than Abbott’s program because they — his team — “treat people with respect.”

But it’s not clear what that means. Abbott and his GOP peers who’ve been shipping illegals up north haven’t been forcing the illegals onto a bus or a plane. They’ve instead granted them the option to either remain in the south or be shipped off to somewhere like NYC, Chicago, or even Martha’s Vineyard.

Indeed, after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis flew 50 illegal aliens to Martha’s Vineyard last month, the illegals he’d shipped were thrilled.

“Some of the migrants flown to Martha’s Vineyard this week said they were grateful to Florida Governor Ron Desantis, calling his move to transfer them to the posh seaside community ‘a stroke of good luck,'” the New York Post reported after interviewing the illegals.

The media have nevertheless portrayed GOP governors like Abbott and DeSantis as “cruel,” “heartless” “monsters” for shipping illegals to liberal enclaves.

Never mind that these aren’t just any liberal enclaves — they’re all ones that purport to be sanctuaries for illegal aliens.

Yet the more illegals that Abbott and DeSantis ship to these sanctuary cities, the louder the virtue-signaling left shrieks. Gotta love the irony and hypocrisy of it all. Especially when you factor in that they have no shrieks to give about El Paso doing the same thing …
