Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and his fellow Democrat extortionists haven’t given an inch as their government shutdown drags on, but a true test of their mettle is rapidly approaching.
The “Schumer shutdown” is on the verge of impacting food stamp payments, making the estimated 42 million who rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to feed themselves and their families into Democrat hostages.
SNAP recipients are now in danger of not receiving payments starting November 1, when the program’s funding is expected to run out, according to a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) memo to state agencies that warned them of the dire situation, according to Fox News Digital.
“More than two dozen states have alerted residents to possible lapses in funding,” Fox News reported.
The Schumer Shutdown has gone on long enough. More than 250,000 South Carolina households are on the verge of losing their SNAP benefits because Democrats are using vulnerable Americans as political leverage. Open the government- today! pic.twitter.com/jPJ2FAlw2q

“The Schumer Shutdown has gone on long enough. More than 250,000 South Carolina households are on the verge of losing their SNAP benefits because Democrats are using vulnerable Americans as political leverage. Open the government- today!” Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) said in a Thursday post to X, urging Democrats to have compassion for those who depend on the federal aid.
“It requires about $8 billion each month to fund SNAP benefits nationwide. When there’s no funding it impacts not just pockets of people, but it’s going to impact people all around the country,” Fox News quoted Bread for the World president and CEO Rev. Eugene Cho who heads up the nonprofit Christian advocacy group whose mission is “to educate and equip people to advocate for policies and programs that can help end hunger in the U.S. and around the world,” according to the organization’s website.
“Yes, funding comes from the federal government, but the administration of it happens through local states,” Cho explained. “And so, when it comes to SNAP, states are on a little bit of a different rhythm in terms of how they’re conveying the reduction or the elimination of SNAP benefits. It is playing out a little bit differently from state to state.”
“We are approaching an inflection point for Senate Democrats. Continue to hold out for healthcare for illegals or reopen the government so mothers, babies, and the most vulnerable among us can receive timely WIC and SNAP allotments,” a USDA spokesperson told Fox News Digital, making it clear that Democrats have a choice, either continue hurting American families to protect freebies for illegal aliens, or do the right thing and end the shutdown before people start to go hungry.
The question is, will Democrats blink or maintain their resistance to funding the federal government even if it results in kids starving?
If economically strapped families are counting on Democrats like House Whip Katherine Clark (D-Mass.) to show mercy, it’s going to be a bleak holiday season, as Democrats can exploit their suffering for leverage.
@WhipKClark, the number two House Democrat, on the Democrat Shutdown: “Of course there will be families that are going to suffer… but it is one of the few leverage times we have.”

Clark gave the game away when she told Fox News that there are “families that are going to suffer” because “it is one of the few leverage times we have.” It was an astonishing admission that Schumer and his fellow Democrats have no qualms about inflicting cruelty on desperate Americans if that’s what it takes to ensure that their precious illegals don’t lose their freebies.
One of the only remaining Democrats with an ounce of compassion, Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) called for an end to the shutdown before people are deprived of their SNAP benefits.
“There are no winners here. It’s not getting better every day here. People are going to start to get really hungry, and I’ve been fully, fully committed to fund SNAP, open up the government,” he told reporters on Tuesday.
