Dems reportedly summoning shrinks to help them cope with Trump’s return

A preemptively pardoned Democratic representative carted out some experts for coaching that appeared more like “therapy” for “the incurable disease of Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

“They’re already calling their shrinks.”

Between pardons, proclamations and power moves, President Donald Trump’s first week back in office has proven a tour de force in promises made, promises kept. While his favorability rating climbed with voters and Republicans cheered, cope best described the sentiment across the aisle as Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin (D) summoned psychologists to a Democratic retreat.

According to a report from Punchbowl News, the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee had invited Jim Coan, a professor of psychology at the University of Virginia, and Hal Movius, a consultant with specializations that included “emotion regulation” and “negotiation,” to aid his colleagues in handling Trump’s return.

“This is only President Trump’s first week in office, and he’s already broken the House Democrats’ brains again. They’re already calling their shrinks,” Article III Project founder and president Mike Davis told Breitbart News.

Punchbowl described the gathering at the Library of Congress by detailing, “The purpose of the session, according to multiple attendees, was to counsel Democrats about how to approach conflict and effectively combat what Raskin described as ‘authoritarian styles of speech.’ Another attendee said Judiciary Democrats were also advised to avoid devolving into partisan mud-slinging — a more common hallmark of the House Oversight Committee, which Raskin previously led as the top Democrat.”

“They’re social psychologists, and they were just talking about communication and authoritarian styles of speech in the Trump age,” contended the ranking member of the Judiciary Committee who, as a member of the defunct Jan. 6 committee, had been among those to receive a blanket pardon as then-President Joe Biden shuffled out of the White House for good. “We were talking about basically communication styles during the Trump era.”

However, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) was more in line with Davis in describing the gathering.

“Jamie Raskin has faced a difficult few months. The American people rejected what Jamie Raskin and other Democrats were selling, President Trump won in a landslide, and Jamie Raskin even received a preemptive pardon from Joe Biden — a move the Justice Department has argued implies an admission of guilt,” he told Breitbart.

“It’s no surprise that Jamie Raskin summoned professional psychologists to provide therapy for Democrats afflicted with the incurable disease of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) in the wake of all this winning,” continued the congressman. “However, no amount of therapy will help Jamie Raskin and other Democrats suffering from TDS as they face the endless wins from the Trump Administration benefitting the American people.”

Trump’s list of accomplishments before completing his first week back in the Oval Office included pardons for the Jan. 6 “hostages” along with pro-life prisoners, putting an end to the weaponization of the federal government, and a wind-down of Marxist DEI initiatives that had plagued bureaucracy.

With the tone set to begin the second Trump administration, social media reactions were understanding of Democrats needing all the help they can get. Some suggested the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) check to see who was footing the bill for the struggle session that arguably proved the lawmakers unfit for their jobs.
