DeSantis sends two planes of illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard. Directions to Obama residence?

Once again, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has dropped the mic on Democrats and captured the hearts of cheering conservatives, in a move that has NIMBY Libs “losing it”: The fearless leader has sent two chartered planes full of illegal Venezuelan immigrants to the uber-exclusive shores of Martha’s Vineyard.

“Yes, Florida can confirm the two planes with illegal immigrants that arrived in Martha’s Vineyard today were part of the state’s relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations,”  Taryn Fenske, communications director for Gov. DeSantis, told Fox News Digital.

“States like Massachusetts, New York and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as ‘sanctuary states’ and support for the Biden administration’s open border policies,” she explained.

“As you may know,” Fenske added, “in this past legislative session the Florida legislature appropriated $12 million to implement a program to facilitate the transport of illegal immigrants from this state consistent with federal law.”

Yes, but to be fair, the inspiration to send them to Martha’s Vineyard, home to such notables as former President and first lady Barack and Michele Obama, may not have been entirely DeSantis’s own.

As BizPac Review reported, Fox News host Tucker Carlson floated the idea back in July.

Citing a “lack of diversity” problem, Carlson stated, “Immigrants are supposed to make America more diverse, but in practice, they usually head to areas that are already pretty diverse. Brooklyn, for example, is only 35% white—pretty diverse.”

“One place they almost never go is to towns where Democratic voters live,” he continued. “Strangely—and you can check this if you want, it’s on the internet—the party of diversity is led by people who strongly, overwhelmingly, prefer all white neighborhoods for themselves and their families. And that’s just weird: no diversity for the diversity promoters! No doubt it’s an oversight, they just haven’t thought of it. But we can fix it; we can do this.”

His prescient proposition?

Send them to Aspen and Martha’s Vineyard.

“After all,” he noted, “Aspen isn’t the only Democratic town that needs an injection of ‘diversity.'”

“Next stop on the equity train has got to be Martha’s Vineyard,” Carlson concluded. “It’s a natural: Joe Biden took 70% of the vote on that small Massachusetts island. Over the past four years, according to FEC data, 92% of all donations from its biggest town, Edgartown, Massachusetts, went to the Democratic Party. So you probably imagine that Edgartown is probably pretty diverse—I mean, the Obamas live on the island, right? No. In fact, we checked. At last count, Edgartown is 95.7% white. What century is this? As of 2019, only 3% of all people, all residents in Edgartown, were born outside of this country.”

“So do the math: that’s 17 people. Total,” Carlson reported at the time. “That’s effectively zero diversity, which means zero strength. They are begging for more diversity. Why not send migrants there? In huge numbers. Let’s start with 300,000, and move up from there. As the island gets stronger, more.”

Clearly, Governor DeSantis heard his call.

And after claiming that the Biden administration’s policies were responsible for the dozens of migrant flights that landed in the Sunshine State last November, DeSantis threatened to bus them to places like Delaware, according to Fox News Digital.

“It is not the responsibility of Floridians to subsidize aliens to reside in our state unlawfully; we did not consent to Biden’s open-borders agenda,” a DeSantis spokesperson said at the time.

In response to the unexpected guests, Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker is offering “short-term” shelter.

“The Baker-Polito Administration is in touch with local officials regarding the arrival of migrants in Martha’s Vineyard,” Terry MacCormack, Baker’s press secretary, wrote in an emailed statement to Fox News Digital. “At this time, short-term shelter services are being provided by local officials, and the Administration will continue to support those efforts.”

Online, DeSantis’s spokeswoman is deflecting hits like she’s wearing Wonder Woman’s bracelets as Democrats, predictably, freak out.

“Emergency officials on Martha’s Vineyard are now asking for volunteers to help with the ‘unexpected urgent humanitarian situation,'” tweeted WBZ’s David Wade. “‘Clinical or non-clinical’ volunteers can call 508-684-8015.”

“You’re freaking out over 2 plane loads of migrants in Martha’s Vineyard, one of the wealthiest towns in America,” Pushaw responded. “Now imagine how Del Rio, Texas is doing with hundreds of migrants crossing the open border every day.”

“These are people,” lamented one user. “Shame on you.”

Undaunted, Pushaw pushed back.

“Shame on the progressives who have mansions sitting empty in Martha’s Vineyard and won’t open them up to migrants, you mean?” she asked.

 

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) foolishly tried to take Pushaw on and was quickly — and oh-s0-easily — shut down.

“Does America face a migration issue at our border because of poor economic and security conditions in countries south of us? Of course,” he tweeted. “Should we exploit that crisis by using desperate humans as political pawns. Hell no.”

“This is so sick,” he cried. “It takes a soulless man to do this.”

“Residents of Martha’s Vineyard overwhelmingly support illegal immigration and call for more diversity,” Pushaw shot back. “Governor DeSantis was kind enough to grant their wishes.”

The liberal meltdown, explained Greg Price, is because Governor DeSantis just forced them to look in a mirror.

“They’re losing it because DeSantis sent a grand total of 50 illegals to Martha’s Vineyard,” he tweeted. “Liberals force their terrible ideas like open borders on the rest of America but freak out the moment they’re personally forced to deal with the consequences of their own policies.”

“Democrat open border policies have resulted in Texas border towns dealing with surges of 10,000+ illegal migrants every single day,” he continued. “50 of them get sent to their favorite vacation spot and they all of a sudden they want to finish building the wall.”
