The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has found nearly 150,000 illegal alien children who went missing during the Biden administration after government officials handed them over to unvetted sponsors.
“We found 146,000 kids so far. 146,000 kids. We still have nearly 300,000 missing,” DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin announced during a press conference Thursday morning.
“When we start digging into these cases, and you start hearing the absolute horrific things that took place underneath the Biden administration, either true neglect at best and criminal at worst, to allow 450,000 kids to go missing throughout this country,” he added.
“As a father of six with three young girls, I’ll do whatever I have to do. I will move heaven and hell to go find these kids.” @SecMullinDHS

During the Biden administration, hundreds of thousands of illegal alien children who were traveling alone and without a guardian were allowed to sidle across the border into the States, where they were then picked up, processed, and handed off to unvetted sponsors — many of whom turned out to be sex traffickers.
“We’re investigating reports to where some of these kids claim that they were raped 6[00] to 700 times,” Mullin said. “I don’t care who you are. I don’t care if you have kids, you don’t have kids. I don’t care if you’re a liberal, you’re independent, you’re a Democrat, you’re Republican.”
“If you can’t stand for law enforcement to go find these kids, who are you? Who are you? And do you know where we’re finding the most of them: sanctuary cities,” he added.
Sanctuary cities are jurisdictions where Democratic lawmakers have installed laws to protect illegal alien adults. These laws often benefit illegal alien thieves, murderers, child molesters, rapists, and sex traffickers.
New York’s failure to honor ICE detainers has resulted in the release of 6,947 criminal illegal aliens.
The crimes:
29 homicides
2,509 assaults
199 burglaries
305 robberies
392 dangerous drugs offenses
300 weapons offenses
207 sexual predatory offenseshttps://t.co/skIV2W1NED— ~☆~LindaEvans🇺🇸🌎🇰🇾 (@Deja_Vu_4Me) June 12, 2026
Besides releasing illegal alien children to sex traffickers, the Biden administration also failed to check up on these kids.
“A February 2024 audit by the HHS Office of Inspector General found that the agency failed to conduct timely well-being follow-up calls for 22% of children placed with sponsors,” according to the Washington Examiner.
The audit also found that “16% of case files lacked proof that sponsors underwent safety checks, and 19% of children were released to adults before the FBI fingerprint and state child abuse registries shared results with the government about the sponsors.”
During Thursday’s presser, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche unveiled charges against three Guatemalan illegal aliens living in Ohio who’d used false information to become sponsors for unaccompanied illegal alien children.
“For too many years, under the prior administration, unaccompanied children were smuggled to the United States and then taken in by a mismanaged government program guided by reckless policy direction,” Blanche said.
“Instead of protecting children, these defendants and others allegedly took advantage of the program and used it to entice the illegal smuggling of unaccompanied children to the United States and, as the sentence of Tiul Xi shows, leave them vulnerable to sexual assault, trafficking, and other exploitation,” he added.
Xi reportedly helped smuggle a child into the U.S., submitted false documents to gain sponsorship of the child, and then raped the child.

Since taking over, the Trump administration has instituted a number of policies to stop illegal alien children from winding up in the hands of sex traffickers.
“[T]he Trump administration has required valid identity documents from sponsors, fingerprint background checks, and DNA testing when a sponsor claims a familial relationship,” according to the Examiner.
DHS’s Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) “conducts in-person visits of homes, addresses, and sponsors before releasing a child, as well as identifies sponsors who attempt to take custody of more than one child,” the reporting from the Examiner continues.
