Did the ‘woke brigade’ get Chick-fil-A too? Fast food giant touts ’embedding DEI in everything we do’

Did the woke brigade get Chick-fil-A too?

The fast food chain that specializes in chicken sandwiches has embraced diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), a radical left concept that allows open discrimination against non-minorities — see white people.

“One of our core values at Chick-fil-A, Inc. is that we are better together. When we combine our unique backgrounds and experiences with a culture of belonging, we can discover new ways to strengthen the quality of care we deliver: to customers, to the communities we serve and to the world,” the company’s website states. “We understand that getting Better at Together means we learn better, care better, grow better and serve better.”

“Chick-fil-A, Inc.’s commitment to being Better at Together means embedding Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in everything we do,” the statement continues, pointing to “ensuring equal access,” “valuing differences,” and “creating a culture of belonging” as desired values.

Who knew making chicken sandwiches could be so complicated?

The problem with equity is that it’s not the same as equality, which is treating people the same. Equity involves making important decisions about people based on their skin color, an assessment that doesn’t always fare well for those carrying a White Privilege card in their pockets.

“DEI is literally wokeness,” social media influencer Ian Miles Cheong tweeted. “You can dress it up in nice language that appeals to your Christianity or sense [of] empathy but in practice it always boils down to the same SocJus nonsense that is destroying every industry and institution.”

Corporate cowardice is widespread in America today — the destruction of the Bud Light brand being a key casualty — as companies fear the outcome of disappointing the intolerant left more than they do upsetting satisfied customers. The progressive left cleverly instituted a woke scoring system that may explain the madness. The social credit score on diversity and inclusion — Corporate Equality Index — is overseen by the pro-LGBTQ+ advocacy group Human Rights Campaign and is considered all-important by many companies that fear what a bad score might bring.

Interestingly, Chick-fil-A says of its corporate purpose: “To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come into contact with Chick-fil-A.”

“Our founder, Truett Cathy, believed that ‘a great company is a caring company,’ and since the beginning, care has been at the center of everything we do. We understand that the path toward Better at Together looks different for every business,” their website reads. “At Chick-fil-A, Inc., our commitment is to approach this work with intention and humility, always believing the best in one another and striving for common ground. We’re early on in our journey, but we’re honored by the opportunity to steward our organization’s greatest asset – our people – and are energized by the road ahead.”

Seems the chain may need that energy because their embrace of wokeness will not change the attitude many on the left have about a company founded on Christian values — see below — but it could change the buying habits of some on the right:
