‘Didn’t see that coming’: ‘The Daily Show’ carves up Kamala Harris word salads in hilarious ‘Veep reboot’

Is it possible that Fox News Channel’s late-night champion Greg Gutfeld is changing the game with his dominant ratings?

Trevor Noah, the host of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” broke ranks last week with the other late-night comedians who’ve been among the most staunch Biden loyalists. mocking President Biden for calling out for U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski, R-Ind., who died in a car accident back in August, during a speech at the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health.

And “The Daily Show” got this week underway by targeting Vice President Kamala Harris, poking fun at her infamous capacity for serving up word salads like a middle school debate challenger desperately short in meeting a minimum word requirement.

In a video clip featuring actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus portraying bumbling fictional “Veep” Vice President Selina Meyer, various clips of quotes from Harris are brilliantly worked in. The caption reads: “The Veep reboot looks amazing.”

“My fellow Americans, words have many meanings and sometimes instead of conveying our meaning, they can suggest other meanings,” the Meyer character said to open the clip.

The video then cuts to VP Harris declaring, “When we talk about the children of the community, they are the children of the community.”

“And we are the United States of America because we are united,” the fictional Meyer is then seen saying, “and we are states.”

Back to real life Harris: “Talking about the significance of the passage of time, right? The significance of the passage of time. So when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time.

And back and forth the footage goes, with Meyer talking about “whatever we have in store cannot be known,” and Harris talking about taking things seriously.

“I hope that clarifies the issue and this can be the last word on those words,” Louis-Dreyfus’ character concluded.

The video ends with Harris rambling about “unsettled times.”

“Certain issues are just settled,” Harris is seen telling CBS News’ Robert Costa in the clip, talking about abortion.

“Clearly were not,” Costa countered.

“No, that’s right. And that’s why I do believe that we are living, sadly, in real unsettled times,” Harris added.

It’s not clear how Louis-Dreyfus feels about the clip. She is a raging liberal who was quick to show support for Harris after the 2020 election:

The hilarious clip certainly made for a lot of interesting banter online… here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter:
