‘Disgusting’ Dems reveal how far they’ll go on government shutdown

“Disgusting” Democrats show no signs of cracking in their quest for healthcare for illegal immigrants, letting it be known that they will not work with Republicans to reopen the federal government until planes start “falling out of the sky.”

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt responded to that stark quote to say, “One of the most disgusting statements I’ve ever read.”

A non-priority for Democrats is whether U.S. military personnel receive paychecks, according to CNN.

“Congressional Democrats are privately preparing to hold their position in the shutdown standoff for several more weeks if Republicans do not agree to their health care demands – and not even a missed paycheck for US troops will force them to yield,” the network reported.

Touting a “surprising display of lockstep” among Democrats, CNN said it believes polling is on their side. Citing a one-day survey by The Washington Post done on the first day of the shutdown, the network reported “that 47% blamed Trump and the majority Republicans in Congress, 30% blamed Democrats in Congress, and 23% weren’t sure.”

“Another senior Democratic aide said as long as public perception is in their favor, the party will not concede short of ‘planes falling out of the sky,'” CNN added.

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said on his official website that Democrats are holding out for a planned rally later this month.

“Rather than work across the aisle to reopen the government, Senator Schumer and Representative Jeffries are catering to the same radical groups organizing the ‘No Kings’ protest on October 18 — groups that have spent weeks pressuring Democrats to shut the government down,” his office explained.

“Axios reports that Schumer and his team even established a private ‘shutdown war room’ with progressive activists, unions, and operatives — including MoveOn and the Progressive Change Campaign Committee — to coordinate messaging and strategy,” the webpage continued. “The effort began weeks before the shutdown, with Schumer’s office sharing talking points and campaign-style materials to rally the Far-Left.”
