Disturbing poll shows majority of young voters want ‘Democrat socialist’ in the White House

A majority of “likely” voters under the age of 40 would like to see a so-called “democratic socialist” win the next presidential election.

A newly released national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports and the Glenn C. Haskins Emerging Issues Center of the Heartland Institute found that 51 percent of “likely” voters between the ages of 18 to 39 would prefer a socialist in the White House.

“Thirty-six percent (36%) don’t want a democratic socialist to win in 2028, while 17% are not sure,” Rasmussen Reports reported.

The “likely” young and dumb voters who support socialism said that their parents, online videos/podcasts, and books were their top influences regarding this matter.

A majority (54%) said their parents or guardians were favorable toward democratic socialism to the best of their recollection when they were growing up,” according to Rasmussen.

The survey also found that 52 percent of under-40 voters had, when in school, dealt with teachers/professors who were favorable toward democratic socialism.

Heartland Institute research fellow Chris Talgo was shocked by the results of the survey.

“It is hard to believe that a solid majority of young Americans think democratic socialism is the answer to the deep-rooted economic problems they face given that socialism has utterly failed to uplift the downtrodden every time and place it has been implemented,” he said.

However, when they grow up in an environment surrounded by adults who champion democratic socialism, it starts to make sense,” he added.

Not just random adults either, but their parents and teachers — and also potentially their local/regional lawmakers in office.

Recall that earlier this month, nearly 100 congressional Democrats brazenly refused to support a House resolution condemning socialism:

Republican Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar of Florida, the daughter of Cuban exiles, slammed Democrats after the vote.

“There is nothing ‘controversial’ about denouncing a poisonous, failed, and deadly ideology,” she wrote on X. “Socialism will never take root in the United States. Not while I’m here to stop it.”

Responding to Rasmussen’s survey, X users slammed the education system in particular for brainwashing the youth with lies about socialism.

The results of this poll come after the election earlier this month of so-called “democratic socialist” Zohran Mamdani as mayor in New York City.

As a typical “democratic socialist,” Mamdani opposes “gifted” programs for kids because they’re “unequitable.” He likewise supports defunding the police, prohibiting the cops from working with immigration authorities, and establishing government-run grocery stores.

Conservatives expect that when Mamdani enters office next year, he’ll wreck the city (even further than before) and give voters a wake-up call about socialism.
